What's the Deal Dreadful? I'm back! With a review of the AMAZING Jord Wooden Watches!

*Press*

   Hello Lovelies!
I am finally back after a long hiatus. I had an insane amount of things happen over the Summer and I wasn't able to blog at all between swimming lesson for my three Little Dreadfuls, going on a cruise and getting everything ready for all three of my little ones going to school. Since the school year has started, I THOUGHT (yes let's laugh now at my foolishness) that I was going to be able to get back to blogging, writing and all the other things I had been wanting to do but fell to the side. Oh how foolish I was, I am a unpaid taxi driver with taking my three kids to three different schools at THREE different times. Yeah, thanks school board for that one. But I am trying to squeeze in some much needed reviews and looks now of the weekends. So, without much further ado, on with the review!

I was approached by Jord Watches if I was interested in doing a review of their wooden watches. Yes, you read that right, wooden watches. I love watches and in all honesty I don't see them as often on people as I would like. Yes, everyone and their mother has a cell phone but what happens when the batteries die or you are in some place you need to know the time and you had to turn your phone off? No clocks on the wall? No problem! You have this awesome watch on your arm now that doubles as a time piece and a fashion statement/conversation starter.

   "Is that a wooden watch?"

Yes, yes it is. Behold it's epic awesomeness.

But I am getting ahead of myself, let's go back to the beginning. So, as I mention Jord contacted me to see if I was interested in doing a review of them and I was thrilled with the opportunity. After much pondering and consideration (and even consulting the family on this since all of the watches are that gorgeous) I finally decided on the Ely Watch in Red Sandalwood. It was such a stunning rich red color that constantly caught my eye. After my decision Jord send me some instructions on how to measure my wrist for the correct size of the watch so I wouldn't have the issue of having to send it back and resize it which just screams wonderful customer service because it is a horrid pain to receive your item in the mail and then find out it is too big or too small.

The watch arrived quickly there after in really unique packaging. The watch itself was nestled safe and secure inside a lovely wooden box.

It was just as beautiful in person as it was on the website.  Seriously, just look at this..

Then came the real test, durability which is essential to me since I have three kids and a moose of a dog so anything dainty and delicate will probably not last long. This watch handled ALL four of those destructive forces as well as daily wear and tear with no problem. The watch is considered splash proof and is NOT waterproof. So take it off when doing dishes, going the in pool, or soaking in the tub.  Since this is a wooden watch you are going to have to take care of it a little differently than your metal ones. I asked what the best way to care for watch from Jord was and I was told that the best way to keep the watch looking like new is to apply a natural coating of beeswax, butcher block oil or even walnut oil to prevent the watch against damage and keep it's moisture balance. You can pick up the butcher block oil and walnut oil from Amazon easily for under $20 and it will last you FOREVER and your watch will look just like new.  As far as price, I think that these watches are a great deal. Granted watches vary greatly in price but I think that the cost of these watches are extremely affordable for the quality and beauty that you get.

Yes, the tag is STILL on it. I had to immediately put in on and take a picture.

Now if you have the overwhelming desire to have your own epic wooden watch you can buy one from Jord. And if  you need the Ely Watch in Red Sandalwood here it the direct link to it. I hope that you enjoyed this installment of What's the Deal Dreadful and until next time lovelies!

What's the Deal Dreadful? Review of IGotTech SmartTech Gloves for Texting.

*Press*

     Hello Lovelies,
I am back again with another review. This time I am reviewing a lovely set of SmartTech Gloves from IGotTech. I am constantly cold and my hands are always like ice. So when I had the chance to review some smart tech gloves that will keep my hands warm while I was on the phone I was super excited about it. The gloves arrived quickly. The gloves are black with the tips of the thumb, first and middle finger are grey. I don't know why they are a different color since the material on the tips of the fingers feels like the same acrylic blend that the gloves are made out of. There is a medium size tag on out of of both glove with the logo on it. While it is prominent it doesn't hinder your movement nor is it itchy or rubs along your wrist on the inside .The gloves keep my hands wonderfully warm and I don't have a problem using the tablet with them at all. I do have an Iphone in an OtterBox so I often have to press a bit harder with the gloves when I am using my phone. I have tried the gloves on friends' phones who don't have an Otterbox around their phone and I have had no issues the using their phones. So if you do have an Otterbox on your phone please be aware that you may have to press harder on your icons due to your Otterbox being in the way. However I don't only wear them for texting they are a great everyday glove.

If you would like to pick up your own pair of SmartTech Gloves from IGotTech you can do so on Amazon. They are $21.99 however they are currently on sale for $9.97. I hope that you enjoyed this installement of What's the Deal Dreadful and until next time!

Born Pretty Store Reviews and Makeup Tutorial!

Hello Lovelies!
I am finally back and I am trying to go ahead and start back with writing in this blog on a regular basis as well as uploading videos to my Youtube Channel on a regular basis as well. I figured that I would go ahead and kick this off with not one, not two but three small mini reviews for items that I received from the Born Pretty Store. I picked out three different items to review for you this month from the Born Pretty Store and let's go ahead and get started!

First off I chose this nice 16 Color Shimmer Eyeshadow Palette in order to see just how vibrant the colors were. Needless to say I was impressed (as you can see from the swatches with no primer in the review video.

I also did a Spring Look tutorial with this palette with hopes that Spring would soon be here since the weather has been so horrible lately.

I used these lovely pink brushes in order to do the look. I was impressed with the quality of the brushes since not only did they hold up (and not shed) to repeated use but also washes as well. They were both soft yet firm and made from synthetic fibers (yay vegan brushes!).

Finally to round out my order I had to pick this awesome Punk Spike Leather Multi-Use Head Band since  I have been dying to get one for myself . This was also amazing since it held up to a lot of wear and tear with me using it and my daughter deciding that she was going to use it while it was still on my head.

Overall I have to say that my experience with the Born Pretty Store and their products has been simply amazing and I just had to share it with all of you. They were also kind enough to give me a discount code to share with my subscribers so go and order some really lovely products from the Born Pretty Store and use the discount code KLH10 in order to get 10% off your order!

So stay tuned for more reviews and tutorials and until next time lovelies...

In the Pursuit of Fabulous- Barbie Forest Red Lenses

Hello Lovelies!

Today I am back doing a review of Barbie Forest Red Lenses from Uniqso . These are my first red lenses and to be honest, I was a bit hesitant to purchase them since I didn't think that I would be able to wear them on a regular basis. Yes, red lenses are fantastic for parties, Halloween, shows, cons or even cosplay in but I want to purchase lenses that I can wear every day if I want to. But needless, to say I have fallen head over heels in love with these beautiful lenses. I couldn't believe how stunning they were in the vials and when I wore them. I used them for while I was creating a couple of Valentine's Day looks (which I will be posting tutorials for in the next couple of days). But on with the review...

Barbie Forest Red Lenses are my new love...

Enlargement-9.5 out of 10 bats
These lenses make my eyes look HUGE and I love that. They are a whopping 16.5mm but strangely enough they didn't make me look freaky or unnatural (which I don't mind but I know that a lot of people do).

Color and Design- 9.5 out of 10 bats
As I mentioned earlier, I was really on the fence about purchasing red lenses for everyday wear but these really won me over. I love red lenses now. The red is really pigmented without being over the top and obviously a cosplay lens. You can wear these everyday and not have people wonder if you are an extra in a horror movie being filmed locally. The red color and design of this lens not only shows up really well against my dark eyes but compliments them nicely. The pattern even gives it a more "natural" look that some of the "natural colored" lenses I have.

Comfort- 9 out of 10 bats
Barbie lenses are the most comfortable lenses I own currently. I don't have issues with them taking time to "settle" on my eyes which may cause them to have hazy spots or the irritating floating lens syndrome which always happens to only one eye. I am able to just put them on and apply my makeup which is what I want in a lens. I have worn theses lenses for eight hours with no problems. Probably anything longer than that keep some eye drops handy.

Overall- 9.5 out of 10
To put it simply, these lenses kick ass. Not only do they enlarge your eyes, but they are extremely natural looking while doing it. The color and design stand up well against dark eyes and look AMAZINGLY natural for a red lens. Finally comfort is key, they are excellent for long wear without drying your eyes out too much. If you are looking to try a new lens color that is different than the regular blue, green and grey then try these. Don't be afraid to try red lenses, I think that you will be just as pleasantly surprised and as pleased as I was.

Coming Soon...Valentine's Day Makeup Tutorial and an Anti-Valentine's Day Makeup Tutorial using these lenses.

Don't forget about my giveaway here on blogger/Facebook which ends on 2/13 and if you follow me on Facebook you can also enter my Tim Burton inspired contest which ends on 2/22!

In the Pursuit of Fabulous- Sunset eye big eye tutorial

Hello lovelies~
I am back again with another picture tutorial. This time I went for my usual bold look, but I will try to alternate between neutral and bold looks so that everyone can enjoy. So here is my Sunset inspired look complete with EOS J203 Adult Blue lenses from Kiwiberry-1-Collection . I wanted to a bold look with a really colorful lens but this look will work with or without lenses. But enough gabbing and on with the tutorial!

What I used for this tutorial:
Moisturizer, Makeup Remover Wipes, Too Faced Shadow Insurance , NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk , Sugarpill's Burning Heart Palette , Tako from Sugarpill , Makeup Forever's Aquashadow in Matte Black , MAC's Carbon , Mac's Liquid Last Liner ,your favorite mascara and Red Cherry Lashes # 76 .

Step One: Start off with moisturizing your entire eye area. Once that has soaked in, apply Too Faced Eye Shadow Insurance all over your lid and even under your eye. This will prevent your shadows from creasing and make your look last all day. Next apply Nyx's Jumbo Pencil in Milk just as you did with your eye shadow primer which makes your shadows extremely vibrant and rub that in (or else you may have creasing which counteracts your eye shadow base). Apply Tako (white) in your tear duct area and on your brow bone.

Step Two: Apply Buttercupcake (yellow) all over your lid.

Step Three: Apply Flamepoint (orange) in a V like shape on the outer portion of your lid and in your crease as well as under your eye.

Step 4: Next apply Love+ (red)  in a large C like shape above the Flamepoint (orange) and Buttercupcake (yellow) and under your eye to right before your iris.

Step 5:  With a blending brush, blend in your crease softening up the line between Love+ (red)and the Flamepoint (orange). Be careful not to blend to low since you still want the Buttercupcake (yellow) to remain bright and vibrant. Add shadow as needed until you are satisfied with your blending.

Step 6: Apply Poisonplum (purple) in a L shape in the middle of your crease and just wrapping around the corner of your eye. Don't worry about fallout or if you look like you have a bright ball of color around your eye. We will fix that later with the magic of makeup wipes. ^_~

Step 7: Blend, blend blend and add color when needed until you have the desired look. Once you have the look you want, take your trusty makeup remover wipe and clean up any fall out on your face under your eye.
Step 8: Next line your waterline with a black eyeliner and using an angled brush set your waterline with a matte black eye shadow  (MAC's Carbon), curl and apply your favorite mascara and line the top lid with black liquid liner (MAC's Liquid Last Liner). While you are waiting for your liner to dry, apply your foundation, fill in your brows (or draw them on in my case), highlight/contour your face, apply blush and lipstick. When your liquid liner is dry then apply false lashes ( I used Red Cherry 76). You're done and you look fabulous!

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial and until next time my dears...

The Pursuit of Fabulous-EOS Pure Pink V201

Hello Lovelies!
I just received an order of lenses from Kiwiberry 1 Collection when they had their 50% off sale. So now since most of my package has arrived (with the exception of one pair of lenses which should be on their way). So in this order, I decided to finally try pink lenses. I really hadn't seen a lot of people wearing pink lenses here I figured why not try them out and honestly I was pleasantly surprised with how much I like these lenses. I normally gravitate towards the bold and dramatic and I thought that pink eyes would give me that look, these lenses are surprisingly natural. But enough blathering and on with the review.

EOS Pure Pink V201 are lovely against dark eyes

Enlargement- 6 out of 10 bats
While these lenses are lovely, they don't enlarge my eyes as some of my other lenses. While my eyes are bigger, you will not get the giant doll eyes look from these lenses. So if you are looking for massive enlargement these lenses are not for you. However if you are looking for enlargement that is less dramatic, then these lenses should be right up your alley.

Color and Design-8.5 out of 10 bats
As I mentioned earlier, I really love the color of these lenses. The color is almost like a pastel baby pink that pops against my darker eye color and I can notice the difference from a distances. However since the color is a softer shade of pink, I couldn't really distinguish that the lenses were pink from a distance just that my eyes were lighter. While I was hoping for a more vibrant bolder pink I still really liked these lenses.

Comfort- 9 out of 10 bats
I honestly can't complain about anything when it comes the the comfort of these lenses. Once in there is really no discomfort. The only thing that I noticed was towards the end of the day my eyes were a bit dry (after around 7 hours) so that is why they didn't get a perfect score. However if you keep eye drops handy, you won't run into that problem.

Overall-8 out of 10 bats
I really do adore these lenses. While these lenses are not as large as I normally wear, they do enlarge my eye. The color is a lovely shade of pink and shows up well against my dark eyes. The pink is subtle enough to lighten my eyes from a distance without shouting "HEY I'M WEARING PINK LENSES!" Finally, these lenses are extremely comfortable. But if you plan to wear them for more than 7 hours or so keep eye drops handy.

Until next time my dears....

Pursuit of Fabulous-Makeup Forever Aqua Shadow

Hello my darlings,
Today I am reviewing Makeup Forever's Aqua Shadows. I must admit, I was a little hesitant over the initial cost but since I am in search of a new makeup sealer for my eyebrows (that will be another post for another day) I decided to take the plunge. I will admit that when I first saw them on Faces by Sarah 's blog I had to try them out. I purchased both the black (#0E) and the jade (#8E) featured in Sarah's tutorial and honestly, they are well worth the money. I have used them both as a quick eyeliner and couldn't be happier. The shadows go on smooth with a creamy feel, unlike some pencil shadows which drag roughly across the eyelid. I can even line my tightline with these shadows which is saying a lot. I hate the feel of eyeliner dragging across my tightline so I hardly ever line it. But These shadows are simply amazing and they last all day long. In addition to their staying power, they are virtually smudge proof against little (or even big) fingers and waterproof.  So Dreadful gives Makeup Forever's Aqua Shadow the following ratings...

Pigmentation- 8 out of 10 bats
The colors are highly pigmented. I often find that pencil shadows/liners are never as vibrant as they appear online or often you have to cake them on in order to achieve the desired color. This is not the case with Aqua Shadows. They may be a little bit difficult to blend so be warned.

Staying power- 9 out of 10 bats
I'm hard on my eye makeup. I have allergies, little fingers that want to touch my eyes, and I also wear contacts so I am constantly either touching my eyes or someone else is trying to. So if Aqua shadows can put up with the things that happen to my eyes and stay on without making me look like I am a raccoon or that I have been punched in eyes, I am impressed.

Affordability-7 out of 10 bats
While I love the product and I would love to have all the colors, it is really steep for my budget. They are twenty dollars USD a pop and with twelve different beautiful colors the average person is going to have to pick and choose which ones to buy. Due to the color, feel and staying power really makes these shadows worth it. I would rather have one amazing lasting shadow which doubles as eyeliner that is a bit more expensive than the cheaper one that I have to cake on and use twice if not three times as much in order to achieve the same look.

Overall rating- 8 out of 10 bats
The pros outweigh the con for this product. While they are expensive, they last and are super pigmented and glide on the eyes like a dream. So go and pick out the color or colors that you really want and enjoy.

Looking to order? You can order Makeup Forever's Aqua Shadows here .

Until next time my dears...

In the Pursuit of Fabulous- Review of Candy Magic Big Size Green

Hello my lovelies,
While I have always been obsessed with makeup, I have just recently come across the world of Circle Lenses. Circle lenses are colored contact lenses that give the eye a bigger almost doll like appearance. The really great thing about these lenses is that they are cosmetic so you don't have to pay an arm or a leg for them. And as an added bonus, you don't have to visit an optometrist and jump through hoops in order to get a prescription. Now if you need a prescription, never fear my lovelies, lots of styles are available with prescriptions. So for all you dark eyed beauties (like myself), you can now have the stunning bright brilliant lighter colored eyes you have always wanted on a decent budget anytime you want.
I recently ordered the Candy Magic Big Size Green from EyeCandy Lens . For years, I have always wanted brilliant emerald green eyes and I had to have them. The shipping was decent, especially coming from overseas.( Now remember if you order from them you will have to be home to sign for the delivery or go pick it up directly from your local post office.) I promptly tore open the package and opened the precious little vials and anxiously waited while my lenses soaked overnight. I popped these lovelies in.While they were extremely green and vibrant in the vials, I was slightly disappointed that they did not show up as brightly as I wanted against my dark brown eyes. The green is noticeable close up in bright sunlight or from the flash of a camera but not from a distance. They were extremely large and even though my husband couldn't notice the color difference when I first put them of he did mention that my eyes looked "weird". My eyes are gigantic in these lenses. Now in all honestly I thought that these lenses were going to be really uncomfortable due to how large they are.Surprisingly, these lenses are extremely comfortable. I have worn them for hours without any irritation.  So, Dreadful gives the Candy Magic Big Size Green Lenses the following ratings..

Enlargement-9 out of 10 bats
My eyes look almost alien in these lenses. People will do a double take, even if they can't tell the color, from the size of your eyes.

Color and Design- 7 out of 10 bats
The color of these lenses are really beautiful but didn't show up well against my dark eyes unless in sunlight or from the flash of a camera. However, I do think that these lenses would be absolutely stunning on someone with lighter colored eyes.

Comfort-9 out of 10 bats
These lenses are quite comfortable to wear. They did initially float around when I first placed them in, hence the 9 out of 10 bats.

Overall- 8 out of 10 bats
They are quite comfortable and will enlarge your eyes, however if you have darker eyes they will be as vibrant in regular light from a distance.

Until next time my dears...
