In the Pursuit of Fabulous-A Review of Rose Marie Shadows

Hello lovelies!
It has been awhile since I have posted anything and I do apologize. But I am back and this time I am reviewing a lovely independent makeup line called, RoseMarie's Shadows on Etsy. RoseMarie's Shadows has a gorgeous line of mineral makeup ranging from stunning shadows to foundations and blushes. All of their products are all natural and made fresh. They don't contain fragrances, preservatives, synthetic dyes and parabens. Not mention they don't test on animals which is a big thing for me. I don't approve of animal testing. So good karma points for RoseMarie's Shadows! YAY!

I received six colors and needless to say I am very impressed. The first color that drew my attention was Mermaid. Her store description of the color is a beautiful shimmer teal blue and she is right. I immediately noticed this gorgeous color and instantly wanted to put it on. Pirate Purple is a gorgeous deep purple shade that is extremely rich and vibrant with just a hint of shimmer. Sea Turtle is actually surprised me. When I first saw in the container I thought that it was going to be more of a pastel green but it isn't. I actually at first thought that the pigment had the wrong label since it wasn't as dark at it appeared in the shop. It seems that RoseMarie's camera is a much better judge of color than I am since it did photograph true. It is a shimmery green with hint of blue and gold. I also received Oink which is a shimmery pink shade that is subtle when applied dry over a base and really popping when applied wet. While I will admit that I think I don't have any single shades of orange shadow (all of them came in a pallet of some sort) I was wondering what I was going to do with Pumpkin. Again the color really fooled me to think that it was actually lighter than it appeared in the photo and turned out to be not only a lovely shade but winning me over. This is a shimmery shade as well since all of her shades have a slight shimmer to them. Finally in my package there was Snowflake a light soft shimmery white it makes an excellent highlight color and it is soft enough for you to use it when you go to work or visit in-laws when dramatic makeup might be a no no. However I like dramatic and I would really suggest using this color wet/foiled so that you can really appreciate how gorgeous it is. But enough blabbing on to what you are really wanting to see...PICTURES.

Swatches inside with flash
The swatches in order from left to right are: Snowflake, Pumpkin, Oink, Sea Turtle, Mermaid and Pirate Purple. The top row is just on skin and on the bottom are swatched over NYX jumbo pencil in Milk. Silly me, I didn't think to swatch them wet but here are photos in comparison between dry and wet.
Shadows applied over just primer and Nyx jumbo pencil in Milk

Same shadows applied wet over primer and Nyx Jumbo Pencil.

Color variety-9 out of 10 bats
RoseMarie has a nice amount of colors and shades that will keep you wanting to come back for more.

Pigmentation 8.5 out of 10 bats
The colors of her shadows are really gorgeous and can be worn dry for a more subtle and conservative look or wet which I think really brings out the true beauty of the shades for a more dramatic look.

Overall- 9 out of 10 bats
The variety of colors and pigmentation will bring you back to the store and not to mention how sweet the owner is. All of her colors have a nice hint of shimmer to them and foiling them will bring new depth and dimension to the color. However if you are looking for a true matte color she doesn't offer it currently.

In the Pursuit of Fabulous- Review of LashDomain.com

Hello lovelies!
I have to admit that I have been slacking with the blog but I am back this time with a review not of a contact lens but of a lovely lash company called Lash Domain. I have been wanting to review this company for awhile because they really are fantastic. All of my Red Cherry lashes that I do for my looks have come from them and I have even ordered some of their Lash Domain exclusive brand lashes. You may even see some of my pictures on their site when you go. Needless to say that I am super impressed with their quality and their prices. The staff at Lash Domain are super friendly and always willing to help. The lashes were AMAZING. They were not only super soft but very durable. But if you are anything like me you want to see the product on someone, so here are some of the lashes that I have purchased from them.

Red Cherry Lashes #100

Lash Domain's Madame CEO lashes

Red Cherry Lashes #76

Lash Domain's Cleopatra Lashes

So the break down...

Quality:  9.5 out of 10 bats
These lashes are not only gorgeous but soft to the touch and super durable. I have cleaned and reused them several times and they are just like new.

Price: 9.5 out of 10 bats
Their prices are extremely reasonable and they often have sales which makes it even better.

Customer Service: 9.8 out of 10 bats
The customer service with this company is fantastic. I have never had a problem with them and they have always taken care of me. I can't ask for anything more.

Shipping : 9.8 out of 10 bats
While often shipping is out of a company's hands (especially if things are coming from overseas) I find it really important. I HATE waiting for things in the mail. I stalk the mailman like a ninja for packages and I hate the utter disappointment of not getting my package in a timely manner. The shipping cost was extremely fair and the turn around from my order to in my hot little hands and on my eyeballs was super quick.

Overall : 9.7 out of 10 bats
This company sells a great quality product with a reasonable price. Their customer service is fantastic and shipping can't be beat. So if you are looking for lashes I highly recommend going there and when you do tell them Dreadfully Divine sent ya.

**Now some of you may wonder or even ask, "Dreadful, why didn't you give them 10 out of 10 bats?" In all honestly, I rarely ever give 10 out of 10 for anything. I find that a constant 10 out of 10 really diminishes the superior rating. Perhaps I am slightly jaded from years of retail but I want my readers to know that I am very through and honest with my ratings. So know that each review the product or company really worked to get that review number from me. ^_~**

Until next time my dears...

In the Pursuit of Fabulous- Valentine's Day look Tutorial

Hello Lovelies!
It is officially February and Valentine's Day is right around the corner. While some people may consider Valentine's Day to be another "Hallmark Holiday" to make people feel guilty and buy cards, I don't care since it is a holiday were you can get CHOCOLATE. It could be called give Dreadfully Divine Chocolate holiday and I would be just as excited. But before I wander off to attempt to lay in wait for the chocolate fairy (there has to be one), here is a Valentine's Day Makeup Tutorial featuring the Barbie Forest Red Lenses I just reviewed.

Here is what I used for this look: Moisturiser, Manly 120 Palette , Too Faced Eye Shadow Insurance , Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Milk , MAC Liquid Last, your favorite mascara, MAC's eyepencil in Ebony,  Red Cherry Lashes 101 and Lit Glitter in Punk.

Step One: Apply moisturizer all over your eye, once it is soaked it then apply Too Faced Eye shadow insurance.all over your lid and under your lash line. Apply Nyx's Jumbo Pencil in Milk all over your lid and under your lashes as well. The primer (eye shadow insurance) will help prevent creasing and extend the life of your eye shadow. Applying the Jumbo Pencil in Milk will make your eye shadows extra vibrant. Using your fingers or a brush gently rub in Milk, if it is too thick it will cause creasing which counter acts the eye shadow primer. Take color marked one of the palette and apply it right under the brows (or where your brows would be).

Step Two: Apply the light pink color marked number two on the palette over your entire lid and slightly above your crease. Remember to pat on the color in order to get the best coverage.

Step Three: Apply the dark matte purple marked number three on the palette in a slanted L shape around the pink and under your lashes.

Step Four: Apply the lighter shade of purple (marked 4 on the palette) above the dark purple and going all the way towards the tear duct. Then take the pinkish red shade (marked five on the palette) and apply in the very outer corner of your eye (inside the purple L shape).

Step Five: Blend blend blend! Blend until you are satisfied with the look. Now you may look like you have huge raccoon eyes after all the blending (and possibly fallout from your shadow). That is OK. Just take a makeup wipe (or baby wipe) and gently clean up the area around your eyes.

Step Six: Apply eyeliner to your waterline and set with a black eye shadow. Apply your favorite mascara, Line the top lid with liquid liner and fill (draw) in your brows. Once your liner dry, apply false eyelashes. Red Cherry lashes in 101 are extremely dramatic so choose the size and style of lashes that best suits you. Finally for the last little pop of color apply some purple cosmetic grade litter under your bottom lashes. I used Lit Cosmetics glitter in Punk. Be sure to apply the glitter with some kind of glitter adhesive ( Lit, Eye Candy, or even a thin layer of eyelash glue will work to keep the glitter in place). And you will end up with this...

Until next time my dears...
