In the Pursuit of Fabulous- Barbie Forest Red Lenses

Hello Lovelies!

Today I am back doing a review of Barbie Forest Red Lenses from Uniqso . These are my first red lenses and to be honest, I was a bit hesitant to purchase them since I didn't think that I would be able to wear them on a regular basis. Yes, red lenses are fantastic for parties, Halloween, shows, cons or even cosplay in but I want to purchase lenses that I can wear every day if I want to. But needless, to say I have fallen head over heels in love with these beautiful lenses. I couldn't believe how stunning they were in the vials and when I wore them. I used them for while I was creating a couple of Valentine's Day looks (which I will be posting tutorials for in the next couple of days). But on with the review...

Barbie Forest Red Lenses are my new love...

Enlargement-9.5 out of 10 bats
These lenses make my eyes look HUGE and I love that. They are a whopping 16.5mm but strangely enough they didn't make me look freaky or unnatural (which I don't mind but I know that a lot of people do).

Color and Design- 9.5 out of 10 bats
As I mentioned earlier, I was really on the fence about purchasing red lenses for everyday wear but these really won me over. I love red lenses now. The red is really pigmented without being over the top and obviously a cosplay lens. You can wear these everyday and not have people wonder if you are an extra in a horror movie being filmed locally. The red color and design of this lens not only shows up really well against my dark eyes but compliments them nicely. The pattern even gives it a more "natural" look that some of the "natural colored" lenses I have.

Comfort- 9 out of 10 bats
Barbie lenses are the most comfortable lenses I own currently. I don't have issues with them taking time to "settle" on my eyes which may cause them to have hazy spots or the irritating floating lens syndrome which always happens to only one eye. I am able to just put them on and apply my makeup which is what I want in a lens. I have worn theses lenses for eight hours with no problems. Probably anything longer than that keep some eye drops handy.

Overall- 9.5 out of 10
To put it simply, these lenses kick ass. Not only do they enlarge your eyes, but they are extremely natural looking while doing it. The color and design stand up well against dark eyes and look AMAZINGLY natural for a red lens. Finally comfort is key, they are excellent for long wear without drying your eyes out too much. If you are looking to try a new lens color that is different than the regular blue, green and grey then try these. Don't be afraid to try red lenses, I think that you will be just as pleasantly surprised and as pleased as I was.

In the Pursuit of Fabulous- Sunset eye big eye tutorial

Hello lovelies~
I am back again with another picture tutorial. This time I went for my usual bold look, but I will try to alternate between neutral and bold looks so that everyone can enjoy. So here is my Sunset inspired look complete with EOS J203 Adult Blue lenses from Kiwiberry-1-Collection . I wanted to a bold look with a really colorful lens but this look will work with or without lenses. But enough gabbing and on with the tutorial!

What I used for this tutorial:
Moisturizer, Makeup Remover Wipes, Too Faced Shadow Insurance , NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk , Sugarpill's Burning Heart Palette , Tako from Sugarpill , Makeup Forever's Aquashadow in Matte Black , MAC's Carbon , Mac's Liquid Last Liner ,your favorite mascara and Red Cherry Lashes # 76 .

Step One: Start off with moisturizing your entire eye area. Once that has soaked in, apply Too Faced Eye Shadow Insurance all over your lid and even under your eye. This will prevent your shadows from creasing and make your look last all day. Next apply Nyx's Jumbo Pencil in Milk just as you did with your eye shadow primer which makes your shadows extremely vibrant and rub that in (or else you may have creasing which counteracts your eye shadow base). Apply Tako (white) in your tear duct area and on your brow bone.

Step Two: Apply Buttercupcake (yellow) all over your lid.

Step Three: Apply Flamepoint (orange) in a V like shape on the outer portion of your lid and in your crease as well as under your eye.

Step 4: Next apply Love+ (red)  in a large C like shape above the Flamepoint (orange) and Buttercupcake (yellow) and under your eye to right before your iris.

Step 5:  With a blending brush, blend in your crease softening up the line between Love+ (red)and the Flamepoint (orange). Be careful not to blend to low since you still want the Buttercupcake (yellow) to remain bright and vibrant. Add shadow as needed until you are satisfied with your blending.

Step 6: Apply Poisonplum (purple) in a L shape in the middle of your crease and just wrapping around the corner of your eye. Don't worry about fallout or if you look like you have a bright ball of color around your eye. We will fix that later with the magic of makeup wipes. ^_~

Step 7: Blend, blend blend and add color when needed until you have the desired look. Once you have the look you want, take your trusty makeup remover wipe and clean up any fall out on your face under your eye.
Step 8: Next line your waterline with a black eyeliner and using an angled brush set your waterline with a matte black eye shadow  (MAC's Carbon), curl and apply your favorite mascara and line the top lid with black liquid liner (MAC's Liquid Last Liner). While you are waiting for your liner to dry, apply your foundation, fill in your brows (or draw them on in my case), highlight/contour your face, apply blush and lipstick. When your liquid liner is dry then apply false lashes ( I used Red Cherry 76). You're done and you look fabulous!

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial and until next time my dears...

In the Pursuit of Fabulous- Review of Uniqso

Hello my lovelies!
As most of you may know, I used circle lenses a lot in the various looks I do. Several of you have asked where I purchased them. Since most of you are on a budget like I am, you want to spend your money at a company where you know that you will be taken care of. I worked several years in the "customer service industry", otherwise known as retail hell, and customer service is the most important factor when it comes to me purchasing something. While price does play a huge part in it, I would rather pay more for excellent customer service because with my luck, I will have something go wrong with the order (lost, wrong product, etc) and I will have to deal with it. So, in order to prevent anyone else having to go through Customer Service/Product hell I decided to also review the companies that I purchase from.

The honor of being review first is, Uniqso . They are one of the main companies I purchase my lenses from and they are simply fantastic. I have never had a problem with them and they go above and beyond with their customer service. For instance, around Christmas time they had a buy one get one free sale going on. For some reason my browser/computer was not allowing me to place an order. So I contact Lee lee at Uniqso and told her about my issue. She was wonderful enough to take my order via email and send a Paypal invoice for it so that I could still get the lenses that I wanted for the sale. I can't tell you the last time that happened. I can't stand contacting a company and never hearing from them.

Affordability- 9.5 out of 10 bats
Uniqso has an amazing rewards program where you can earn points and used them to take money off your order. You can gain points by doing reviews of the lenses they sell, referring friends and if you post pictures of yourself wearing their lenses on FB you can also have the chance with win points. They also have a monthly contest that if you enter (and you don't need a million points to redeem them). Uniqso also offers a monthly special promotion lens that you can get the pair for $9.80. Yes, a pair of lenses for under 10 dollars. You can't beat that.

Customer Service-10 out of 10 bats
I never ever give a rating of 10 out of 10. I guess I am just cynical, I tend not to believe reviewers that constantly give 10 out 10. But, this company deserves it by going above and beyond with helping a customer. Lee Lee could have easily ignored my email but she didn't and that REALLY impressed me. Not only did place my order and send me an invoice, she also sent me another message that my order had shipped and gave me a tracking number. I can't ask for anything more.

Product Variety-9.5 out of 10 bats
Uniqso offers a wide variety of lenses on their site. I hate jumping from site to site looking for a particular lens. While most sites have their selection broken down by color and brand, Uniqso goes above and beyond and even breaks it down by budget and size.

Overall- 9.8 out of 10 bats
What can else can I say? This store is wonderful. They are extremely affordable with a great rewards program and a monthly promotion on a special set of lenses. Customer service is AMAZING and they have a wide arrange of lenses that are not only broken down by color, brand, budget and size. So if you are looking for a place to purchase quality lenses that will take care of you.

Until next my dears...

In the Pursuit of Fabulous-Review of EOS WBK-1 Black

Hello Lovelies~
I am back again with another contact lens review for you. This time I will be reviewing, EOS WBK-1 Black that I purchased from KiwiBerry1 Collection. Like the pink lenses that I reviewed last time, these were my first pair of black lenses. I have several pairs of blue, violet and green but these were my first black lenses. Honestly I didn't have the urge to put a darker colored contacts in since my eyes were all ready dark. I didn't think that it would make any difference. My eyes would just be darker, whoopie. How wrong I was. I had seen sites that claimed that "black eyes make you appear more intelligent". While I don't know if I look smarter, I do have to say that I do look bad ass with these lenses in. Needless to say I am going to be purchasing some more in the future.

These black lenses were the finishing touch to the Futuristic look  I did

Enlargement- 9 out of 10 bats
What else can I say, since these lenses are black they make my eyes look HUGE! While the actual enlargement is 14.8mm  I think that the color is what helps give the illusion of large dolly like eyes.

Color and Design- 8 out of 10 bats
As I mentioned earlier, I didn't think that black lenses would be that impressive to me since I all ready have really dark eyes. I was quite mistaken. I like how the color fades in towards the middle instead of being one harsh black blob which gives it more of a natural look.

Comfort- 9 out of 10 bats
These lenses are extremely comfortable however they did get a bit dry towards the end of the day hence the 9 out of 10. Keep eye drops handy and

Overall-  9 out of 10 bats
I love everything about these lenses- the look, enlargement, comfort.I honestly can't rave enough about them.Anyone who is on the fence about purchasing black lenses, you really need to get these lenses. You won't be disappointed.

Now don't forget about my current giveaway that I am having and if you are on Facebook be sure to check out my Tim Burton Inspired Makeup Contest. Until next time my dears....

The Pursuit of Fabulous-EOS Pure Pink V201

Hello Lovelies!
I just received an order of lenses from Kiwiberry 1 Collection when they had their 50% off sale. So now since most of my package has arrived (with the exception of one pair of lenses which should be on their way). So in this order, I decided to finally try pink lenses. I really hadn't seen a lot of people wearing pink lenses here I figured why not try them out and honestly I was pleasantly surprised with how much I like these lenses. I normally gravitate towards the bold and dramatic and I thought that pink eyes would give me that look, these lenses are surprisingly natural. But enough blathering and on with the review.

EOS Pure Pink V201 are lovely against dark eyes

Enlargement- 6 out of 10 bats
While these lenses are lovely, they don't enlarge my eyes as some of my other lenses. While my eyes are bigger, you will not get the giant doll eyes look from these lenses. So if you are looking for massive enlargement these lenses are not for you. However if you are looking for enlargement that is less dramatic, then these lenses should be right up your alley.

Color and Design-8.5 out of 10 bats
As I mentioned earlier, I really love the color of these lenses. The color is almost like a pastel baby pink that pops against my darker eye color and I can notice the difference from a distances. However since the color is a softer shade of pink, I couldn't really distinguish that the lenses were pink from a distance just that my eyes were lighter. While I was hoping for a more vibrant bolder pink I still really liked these lenses.

Comfort- 9 out of 10 bats
I honestly can't complain about anything when it comes the the comfort of these lenses. Once in there is really no discomfort. The only thing that I noticed was towards the end of the day my eyes were a bit dry (after around 7 hours) so that is why they didn't get a perfect score. However if you keep eye drops handy, you won't run into that problem.

Overall-8 out of 10 bats
I really do adore these lenses. While these lenses are not as large as I normally wear, they do enlarge my eye. The color is a lovely shade of pink and shows up well against my dark eyes. The pink is subtle enough to lighten my eyes from a distance without shouting "HEY I'M WEARING PINK LENSES!" Finally, these lenses are extremely comfortable. But if you plan to wear them for more than 7 hours or so keep eye drops handy.

Until next time my dears....

Velma from Scooby Doo Themed look

Hello my lovelies!

Two days and two posts, I am on a roll! To kick off 2013 I decided to start it off with a bang by doing my first themed series, Scooby Doo. I love Scooby Doo and it was my favorite cartoon when I was little. I remember waking up early on Saturday mornings watching anxiously to see what  monster Scooby and the gang would unmask. My kids got a ton of Scooby Doo movies from their grandparnets and we have been enjoying our Scooby Doo marathons. Who better to kick off this themed look other than Velma Dinkley. She is the smartest of the bunch and usually solves the mystery first (sometimes with the help of Daphne and Fred) and helps motivate the group with the offer of Scooby Snacks. I think that smart is sexy so I went with a sexier/edgier look for Velma who is often portrayed as a "nerd" but I went for a more natural look lash-wise cause honestly you can't have huge dramatic lashes behind those glasses without them getting in the way. Since things have been horribly gray and overcast here the coloring is off since the main color on the lid is flamepoint, a brilliant bright orange color which only appears a different shade of red in the images.  I will have to recreate this look on a brighter day to see if the orange stays true to color. But one with the pictures.

Velma Dinkley
Well I hope that you enjoyed this look and I hope to see more of you. As always feel free to comment and follow.
   Until next time my dears...
