The Pursuit of Fabulous-Review of Natural Big Eyes Lenses - Dolly Eye - Pop C Light Violet

Hello my lovelies,
I am back again with another circle lens review for you. This time I am reviewing Natural Big Eye Lenses Dolly Eye Pop C in Light Violet. I originally purchased these lenses from EyeCandy's Store but for some reason they are no longer in stock. AS I have stated before I have really dark brown eyes and while some lenses look amazing in the photos on the website they don't live up to their images when you get them out of their vials and into your eyes. While I am sure that those lenses may look jaw dropping amazing with people with lighter eyes not so much on us dark eyed ladies and gents. But not so with these lenses, you can tell the difference and the actual color from a distance. If you are looking for a lens that stands out in a crowd these lenses are for you. I love dramatic looking lenses and makeup so these were right up my alley.
Without flash on an overcast day

With flash., just look at the amazing color.

Enlargement- 8 out 10 bats
These lovelies are huge. Large enough to draw attention to you but not too big that people will think that you are some strange alien from another planet. People will glance your way and do a double take. So be prepared.

Color and Design- 8 out of 10 bats
The color of these lenses are amazing. The pigmentation is dark enough to stand out against my dark eyes and up against my dying camera. They are really vibrant! If you are looking for a more subtle or natural violet eye, then these are not for you. They are quite dramatic and stunning. But then again, I love the strange and unusual.

Comfort- 7 out of 10 bats
While these lenses are comfortable my eyes were being to tire and dry out after about six to seven hours. If you are thinking of wearing these beauties all day/night take some eye drops and your case in case they dry out too much.

Overall- 7 1/2 bats out of 10
While I loved the color and enlargement of these amazing lenses, I wish they were a bit more comfortable for me to wear longer without drops. People will do a double take and stare at these lovely lenses since they are so striking and really draw attention to your eyes. I still can't rave enough about how pigmented they are to stand out from a distance on my dark eyes. So if you are looking for a gorgeous violet lens that will draw attention go out and purchase these.

It appears that after I composed this blog entry, my sad sick little camera has finally given up the ghost and died a horrible death. Which, I will say, is all for the best since it could no longer take decent close up pictures. So, since the camera gods have spoken, I will be purchasing a camera after the holidays and I will be back with better (and clearer) pictures and I will be revising the tutorial with new images and of course more reviews and tutorials. So have a wonderful holiday season and I will see you all in 2013. Until next time my dears...

In the Pursuit of Fabulous-Neutral Big Eye Makeup

Hello my lovlies~

I am back and this time with my first every makeup tutorial. I figured that I would start off with an everyday  neutral look complete with theBarbie Puffy Three Tone Brown Lenses from my last review. While I am more a dramatic makeup fan there are days when I really love a neutral look.I know that my pictures aren't the best but my camera is limping along on its last legs and I am hoping it last through the holiday season. Perhaps I will be lucky and Santa will bring me a new one.  But now on with the tutorial.
**Updated with new cleared pictures thank to my new camera and Santa. ^_~**
Neutral Big Eye

What I used for this tutorial:
Too Faced Eyeshadow Insurance, Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Milk,  Manly 120 Professional Palette , Mac's Embark, Makeup Forevera Aquashadow in Matte BlackMAC's Liquid Last Liner, your favorite mascara and some lashes Red Cherry 103 (optional).

Manly Makeup Palette

Mac's Embark

Step 1: First use Too Faced Eyeshadow insurance over your entire lid and then apply your NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk and blend. Apply under your eye as well since we will be adding color under your eye to tie in the look.

Step 2: Now that the first color marked on the Manly 120 Professional Palette and pat over your lid.

Step 3: Take the second color marked on the Manly Palette and apply in and above your crease also bringing it down and under your eye midway to tie in the look. Don't worry how blocky it looks we will be blending it out in the end.

Step 4: Take Embark and apply it in the outer corner of your eye in a sideways v shape. Use as much or as little as you would like but remember it won't be as bold as when you first put it on due to blending.

Step 5: Take the shadow marked 4 on the Manly Palette and apply to the brow bone as your highlight. Now take a brush and blend, blend, blend, and BLEND until you get the desired transition of color. Remember to use your brush in a side to side windshield wiper motion. If needed take a makeup cleansing cloth (or baby wipe) and wipe away any fall out.

Step 6: Line your eyes. I used Makeup Forever's Aqua shadow on my waterline(which I set by placing some black matte eye shadow on top of it--I found that by doing that it makes it last longer) and used MAC's Liquid Last liner on my lid and apply lashes Red Cherry 103 (optional).

**Now I find it easier for me to do my eye makeup first and then the rest of my face. It works out best for me in this way since I draw/paint on my brows. But everyone has their own way of doing makeup do what is easiest for you**

You are done and you look fabulous!

Well my lovelies, I hope that you enjoyed this tutorial! Until next time my dears...

In the Pursuit of Fabulous-Barbie Puffy Three Tones Brown from Unisqo

Hello my lovlies~
I am sorry that I have been away for so long. A lot has happened since I last posted ,the two major events  that occured were that we got a new boxer puppy which my children have named Cody and I participated in my first NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) in November. For those of you who haven't participated in NaNoWriMo it is basically a writing frenzy all month. The goal is to write 50,000 words in 30 days and I am proud to say that I met the goal but I didn't do anything else. I was a mad writing hermit during the month of November. But I am back with a review of the Barbie Puffy Three Tones Lenses in Brown from Uniqso. I bought these lenses several months back due to the fact that the company was having an amazing sale on this brand and I wanted some new lenses to review. I wasn't quite sure about buying brown lenses since I all ready have dark brown eyes but I am honestly thrilled with how these lenses look. While I am normally drawn to more drastic lenses these didn't fall flat at all. While the color change isn't as shocking or unusual as yellow lenses would be, I found myself admiring these beauties every time I passed a mirror.
If you look closely you can see a slight reddish or pink ring around the pupil opening. I love this and it gave my eyes more "depth" instead of just a solid colored lens.

My crappy camera fails to capture the gorgeous hues in this lens.
Enlargement- 6 out of 10 bats
These lenses did make my eyes larger but it didn't give an alien appearance. However you will notice the slight difference in your eyes.

Color and Design- 7 out of 10 bats
These lenses are gorgeous in the vials and out. There is a slight pinkish/red inner ring where the pupil opening which explodes into a frenzy of different browns and ambers and ends with a soft brown outer ring. The lenses are what I would consider natural but they are anything but boring. While personally I love the strange and unusual colors and patterns, I really love the look of these lenses.

Comfort- 9 out of 10 bats
These lenses are EXTREMELY comfortable. I wore them for a full eight hours and I didn't have any complaints. They did what I want from a pair of lenses. They stayed in place with no hassle that I forgot that I was wearing them.

Overall- 7 out of 10 bats
Needless to say, I really loved these lenses. While they didn't make my eyes as large and alien looking as I would like, I couldn't stop admiring these lenses throughout the day. The color and design were gorgeous especially giving the brown so much more depth and the comfort was out of this world.I was pleasantly surprised at the new shade of brown my eyes achieved and I wouldn't hesitate in purchasing another set of Barbie lenses especially if they are as comfortable as these. I do have this same lens in blue so I look forward to seeing how well the blue stands up against my dark eyes.

Until next time my dears...
