Late Mani Monday Post: Featuring Patina from Gothic Gala Lacquers!

*Press Sample*
Hello Lovelies!
Sorry for the late posting today for my Mani Monday post, unfortunately my internet has been having issues today and has been down off and on all day. I can only guess that it has been from the epic wave of thunderstorms that we have been having recently.

Yup, this was my internet today..
However I am back today with another Mani Monday post with Gothic Gala Lacquer's, PatinaPatina, is the newest last minute edition to the awesome Steam Punk Collection that GGL put out at the beginning of this month that I was lucky to swatch for her. Samantha did an excellent job capturing the grittier, yet still beautiful side of Steam Punk that people often over look with nice bright and shiny things.

Gritty and beautiful always make me think of Steam Punk

Patina is listed on the site as a teal leaning more towards green with a shimmer. It is simply a gorgeous light blue green with a golden shimmer much like the green that sometimes appears when copper oxides. Just take a look since I did manage to take some photos in between downpours.

Naturally Matte

Patina is naturally a gorgeous matte polish but looks just as beautiful with a shiny top coat. Due it is being a matte, the polish consistency is thicker and I only needed two coats for this mani. You can purchase Patina at Gothic Gala Lacquers' site. However you can also follow GGL on Facebook, the Facebook Fangroup and Instagram. I hope that you enjoyed this late Mani Monday! Until next time lovelies!

Mani Monday Featuring the New Steampunk Collection from Gothic Gala Lacquers

*Press Sample*
Hello Lovelies!
I am back again for another installment of Mani Monday and this time I have a super special treat for you Samantha from Gothic Gala Lacquers contacted me and asked if I was interested in swatching a  new Steampunk collection that she was planning to release in the beginning of September. So, of course, I was super excited since not only do I love her polishes but I love all things Steampunk.

OMG! Did you say Steampunk?
Then, I began to worry since I started thinking about the blog and my new found romance with animated gifs and blogging and then I realized I hadn't seen that many steampunk movies.

Hmmm, Let me think about this.
Then, I began to search the internet for steampunk animated gifs...

I searched everywhere and it seemed like a never ending task.
Until it finally hit me that The City of Lost Children would be absolutely PERFECT for this collection. Not only was it one of my favorite films, it also had an amazing steampunk feel and Ron Perlman was in it. So it was made to animate this blog post for Gothic Gala's Steampunk collection.
When most people tend to think of Steampunk, metallics often come to mind so naturally I was thinking that I was going to have shiny metallic nails. However, Samantha always continues to surprise me with her collections. Instead of bright metallics, she went the opposite direction and did mattes. Yup, that is right a mostly matte Steampunk collection which is simply brilliant. I liked how she took the grittier aspect of Steampunk while still working with the traditional metallic aspect. I swatched the polishes as they are and then with a top coat to give them either a matte or a shiny look so that you can see the differences. Just take a look...

Blue Steel is probably the most non traditional steampunk color with it being blue.It is a lovely hybrid combination of both a lighter blue and silver. This is naturally a matte however, it is just as gorgeous with a shiny top coat which makes it slightly darker and more metallic looking with a shiny top coat. I will have to say it is one of my favorites.

Bronze is the is a lovely like orange with a hint of gold and tons of shimmer when the light hits it just right. It is also a matte but looks only slightly darker with a shiny top coat.

Rust is the mid range tone of the steampunk metallics. While it is a lovely orange metallic hue it is darker with a  bit more red or even possibly a hint of pink. This is another matte but turns slightly darker when the shiny top coat is added but just as lovely.

Copper is another one of my favorites which is the darkest of the three orange metallics. It has more of brown hue than the other two with the most dramatic transformation when the shiny top coat is applied. You can see more of the brown the shiny top coat than in its' natural matte.

Finally, last but not least no steampunk collection would be complete without Silver. This is collection is no exception. While this color is silver it isn't the flashy over the top metallic silver since it would be completely out of place with the rest of the colors. This silver is more subtle and subdued however still silver none the less. This is the ONLY naturally shiny polish out of the entire collection and it is just as stunning with a matte top coat.

So there you have it lovelies, the Steampunk collection from Gothic Gala Lacquers releases September 1st. You can  either pick up the entire collection for $37 $45m since she has added a new color which is on its' way to me right now, or you can pick out your favorites for $8.50 a piece.

With prices like that you won't completely blow your beauty budget

This collection will be around until Spring so no need to take up drinking just yet!

You can purchase Gothic Gala polishes here. If you would like to follow her on the web you can follow her on Facebook, Facebook Fan Group,  Instagram and Pinterest. I hope that you enjoyed this installment of Mani Monday and until next time lovelies!

Mani Tuesday? The Burlesque Collection from Gothic Gala Lacquers Part 3

*Press*
Hello lovelies!
Welcome to Mani Tuesday? I know, I am a day late due the fact that my soon to be father in law decided to take it upon himself to invite himself down to visit us with almost no notice. -_- But thankfully our unwanted house guest is gone and now I can get back to blogging on a regular schedule since I am so behind. The winner for the YT/blog portion of my Lit Kit Giveaway is going to be uploaded tomorrow so stay tuned for that as well. But on to the second part of the Burlesque collection from Gothic Gala Lacquers. Seriously take a look at these last four polishes...
Sassy Citrine
Sassy Citrine is a lovely matte golden yellow which is a lovely summer yellow without the super glam of a gold polish.

Gypsy Rose Lee
A lovely shiny medium pink polish with a hint of holo. This pink has a pretty shiny finish.
Krystal Sparkle
Krystal Sparkle is a lovely  shimmery sparkly top coat with an opal like sheen which is perfect for a light spring summer look. It can be worn by itself or on top of another color in order to give it an additional depth.

Opal Jamila
Finally last but not least is Opal Jamilia which is a nice matte white with a hint of silver glitter throughout to give it additional depth. This is perfect by itself , paired with Krystal Sparkle or even with the pastel lipstick trend.

I really loved this collection and I liked the nice combination of both matte and shiny finishes on the polishes. I also like how this collection has a little bit of everything for everyone. It has a lot of really nice spring and summer colors with the lighter colors and darker vampy colors for goths like myself.  You can pick up individual bottles for $9.00 or the entire collection for $56. So head over to Gothic Gala Lacquers to pick one or the entire collection up today and be sure to follow her Facebook to see the latest sneak peeks, sales and flash giveaways!

Until next time lovelies!

Mani Monday: Lilac Dreams from Gothic Gala Lacquers

*purchased*

Hello lovelies!
I am back again with another edition of Mani Monday! Sorry this is being published so late but Mr Dreadful is home sick with a sinus infection and NOTHING beauty gets done in a timely fashion with a sick hubby and kids out of school. However I did manage to steal away a post this! This time I am featuring the amazing thermal polish, Lilac Dreams from Gothic Gala Lacquers. I originally came across this lovely company when I was looking for thermal polishes on Etsy. (* The store has since moved off Etsy and on to it's own website.) Then she became on of the sponsors for one of my giveaways on Facebook and Samantha, the owner, was lovely enough to sponsor the winner's choice of polishes.  So when she recently had a buy 2 get a polish free sale I decided to jump in and make a purchase. I chose Lilac Dreams obviously since it was a thermal (color changing) purple. When the package arrived, I was so happy I immediately had to paint my nails with the thermal cause I am like a 3 year old when it comes to thermals. So you will have to forgive the fact that my nails haven't been clean up cause I couldn't wait to take pictures.

It is a lovely matte almost pearly lilac when first applied.

But off course then I had to immediately dunk my nails and ice water to see if I could catch the color shift..

You can see the mid change  from dark to light purple
You can see the gorgeous dark purple from the ice water on the tips.

Needless to say, I love thermals and I love purple so this the perfect combination of both. I really liked the matte pearl like finish and I surprisingly enough chose not to put a glossy top coat on this gorgeous polish. If you are interested in purchasing it you can do so on the site. You can also get the latest sales (and there is a 6 month anniversary giveaway going on which you should totally check out with the opportunity to win some amazing nail goodies-US only however she does plan to have international only giveaways as well) on her Facebook page.  I will be doing a review on my recent purchase them them so stay tuned for that as well! Well I hope that you enjoyed this installment of Mani Mondays!

Until Next Time Lovelies!

Mani Monday: Catch a Star Featuring Vapid Lacquer

*I Bought This*

Hello Lovelies!
It was a crazy and sad week with the passing of my parents' dog due to Sego Palm poisoning so I wasn't able to do another post. However, I am back with another Mani Monday installment, this time I am featuring some new polishes from Vapid Lacquer. I have to say Vapid Lacquer makes truly EPIC holo polishes and I needed to pick up some more since I can never have enough sparkly goodness. So I picked up three minis (two holos and one duochrome which I will share with you at another time) and some of her bath goodies to try out and review. The two polishes that I am featuring today, Catch Me If You Can and Star Stuff, caught my eye and I knew that I needed to have them on my nails immediately. Catch Me If You Can is described as a "teal polish with a TON of linear holo" on the site. I just think it is the perfect combination of blue and green, and what I would consider on the dark end of the teal spectrum, with holo-y goodness thrown in. Now Star Stuff is described on the site as "stunning bright silver packed with linear holo". This polish is purely epic. It is a lovely silver when you are wearing it indoors but when the sun hits it, Star Stuff is a holo explosion which makes me think of disco balls coming out of the corner and drag queens running to sing Abba on my fingernails. While I love Catch Me If You Can, I  REALLY LOVE Star Stuff (possible borderline obsession really)  and I need to order a full size in hopes that drag queens will ambush me and sing Abba when the sun hits this polish. I mean seriously on a crappy over cast day I was still able to get this awesome holo shot (and NONE of my indoor shots would do this justice).
Catch Me If You Can  and Star Stuff (accent nail) from Vapid Lacquer

So needless to say these two polishes are simply gorgeous so if you want or NEED to pick them up you can do so HERE. You can also follow her on her Facebook Page as well were she posts games where you can win some awesome goodies from her store. Hope you enjoyed this installment of Mani Monday!

Until Next Time lovelies!

Mani Monday with Carpe Noctem Cosmetics!

Hello lovelies!
Welcome to the first installment of a new series called Mani Monday! I have recently developed a polish addiction and I wanted to share my looks with you. I may even share my learning attempts with stamping as well. For my first Mani Monday I started with another indie polish company Carpe Noctem Cosmetics. Today, I am wearing Diva D in Diamonds inspired by the amazing Diva in The Fifth Element, which is one of my favorite movies, and Gifford Gorgeous on my accent nails.

Diva D and Gifford  Gorgeous from Carpe Noctem Cosmetics.

Both of these colors are on the lighter side of blue and purple which I am trying out since I am such a bold and bright or dark and vampy girl. Both took three coats in order to the opacity that I wanted and top off with Seche Vite's fast drying top coat cause I hate waiting for polish to dry. I always manage to smear it or dent it.  Diva D in Diamonds is part of her regular stock while Glifford would be considered a special order so you would have to order a custom polish.  I really wish that I was able to get a nice sunny picture of this mani but it looks like it is finally going to rain since it has been grey and overcast all day. Here is a nice sunny image of Diva for those of you curious to see what it looks like out in the sun (rather than indoors) back when my nails were longer.

A lovely sunny pic of Diva D in Diamonds

The two rings are from the Born Pretty Store (use code KLH10 for a discount off your purchase). While they are not listed as knuckle rings, they are for me since apparently I have "larger fingers" (I wear an 8-9 ring size) so they became kick ass knuckle rings.  I hope that you enjoyed the first Mani Monday and stay tuned for more polish looks and reviews!

Until next time lovelies!
