Mani Monday with MOAR Drunken Stamping featuring Vapid Laquer

*Purchased*

    Hello Lovelies!
It has been forever and a day since I have done a Mani Monday post. Partially because my poor nails went through a horrible phase of peeling and being over all ugly little nubbies.  But I have managed to get it under control with lots of moisturizing and honestly cutting the split/peel out of them when they appear. While I don't know if that was the best solution it worked for me. I also moved to an acetone with a lavender essential oil added to it so it isn't such a harsh toil on my nails when I remove my polish. But since the "girls" are on the mend I decided to do a Mani Monday post featuring one of my favorite indies, Vapid Lacquer.

Now, I know that there was a HUGE HOT MESS going on in the indie polish community with the Mentality issue. There is no need for me to rehash that drama but in case you missed it there are several posts about what happened and seriously all you have to do is look up the #mentalityburns and see what I am talking about. This issue cause a huge backlash in the indie polish community causing people to stop buying indie polishes. Now what happened with Mentality is HORRIBLE ( and down right fucked up) but that is NOT the norm and all of the lovely ladies that I have purchases my indie polishes from are wonderful and I have had NO side effects whatsoever. Well, okay the only side effect I had was FABULOUS looking nails with kick ass polish on them but that is what we want. But enough of that...

So we all know that Halloween is coming up and of course, with no surprise, it is my favorite holiday. Last year, Krys ( the talented owner of Vapid Lacquer)  made an incredible Halloween collection and I managed to score not one but two of these highly coveted polishes, Witching Hour and Vampires Don't Sparkle (which always reminds me of this image which makes me laugh EVERY time I see it).

Girl, you go that right, That is not acceptable at all...

So I decided to do a vampy gradient of the two plus some stamping and I learned two very important things.

     1. Stamping is a skill and an art. If it isn't practiced on a regular basis you WILL revert back to your craptacular stamping skills. (So please don't judge these polishes on my shitty stamping)

     2. Gradients are awesome on all nail lengths however I need some practice doing it on nubs. (Again don't judge these polishes on my crappy gradient job)

Yup this is pretty crappy and doesn't do the polishes justice...

I also took some polish bottle shots so you can truly see the beauty of these polishes since my nails are not a great representation. I know some of you may ask if you think that your polish job is so crappy why are you sharing it? Well honestly there are lots of people who love polish but are super polish masters or stampers right now. If I can get better seriously ANYONE can. There is hope for you. Also it is because Krys is a bad ass and makes incredible polishes. After the drama that has gone on from Mentality people need to know that there are incredible makers of kick ass polishes who aren't about the drama. (I will also be doing more Mani Mondays to feature and shout out the other awesome companies and makers so show my love)

Now while you can't get these polishes right now you CAN get them for a limited time restock for the non sparkly spooky season on October 3rd for a one time restock! Yup ladies and gents mark you calenders and get your click on to purchase these two plus Apparition and Purple Poison only on this date until they are sold out. However Kry is also releasing a Fall Collection that will around until the end of the year so you don't have to kneecap your polish friends in order to pick up a limited stock of those. Now where can you pick up these gorgeous goodies? You can pick them up here and stalk them like a ninja on October 3! Now go prepare yourself to be the Vapid Lacquer Ninja ready to stalk the ALL THE POLISH!  I hope that enjoyed this installment of Mani Monday, until next time lovelies!

Mani Monday Catch Me If You Can Super Star!

*Purchased*
Hello Lovelies,

It has been one hell of a Monday and I do apologize for this being a late Mani Monday Post. Two of my three little Dreadfuls are sick. One with the flu and one with an upper respiratory infection so that means I have had no sleep and I am paying for my pediatricians power bill this month.

Yup, this is what I look like right now...

And I just want to scream this to the universe cause I feel like crap...(which I hope that I am just tired and NOT getting sick..)

Universe take note, I am trying hard today not to be a homicidal maniac. Cut a girl some slack..

But on a brighter not I do have some really pretty nails for you...

I used the following this for this mani:
Opi Natural Strengthening Base Coat
Vapid Lacquer's Catch Me If You Can
Pure Ice SuperStar (stamped)
Born Pretty Stamping Plate BP 17  (use code KLH10 for 10% off your purchase)
Vapid Lacquer's Get Your Shine On! Quick Drying Top Coat

Sadly, today is gray and dreary so I couldn't catch the awesome holo effect. But TRUST me, it is pretty damn epic when the sun hits it. You and purchase this amazing polish and my go to fast drying top coat here (cause there is NO shrinking like some other top coats). You can also follow Vapid Lacquer on Facebook, her Facebook Fangroup and follow her on IG. I hope that you enjoyed this installment of Monday and be sure to follow me on IG as well!

Mani Monday: Do You Wanna Build a SnowMan? Featuring Olaf from Carpe Noctem Cosmetics and MOAR Drunk Stamping!

*Purchased*

   Hello Lovelies!
I am back again with another installment of Mani Monday! This time featuring the awesome Limited Edition Group Custom from Carpe Noctem Cosmetics, Olaf!

Yup, that is right this awesome guy right here...
And if you have small children or live anywhere near my house you can automatically hear my youngest bellowing this song...

You know it too.. Cause everyone is singing it..EVERYONE

So as always I am super excited over any limited edition group custom that Emily from CNC makes however this was super exciting since I will admit that I am a fan as well.

Yup, that's right I am a fan...
Yup, you read that right that, I am a fan of Frozen. I don't know if am getting soft in my old age and that my cold black gothic heart is thawing. Or the fact that my daughter belts out the songs to this movie like some drunken karaoke goddess who doesn't care if she gets most of the words wrong. She is just loves the singing it damn it and it has chipped away the last slivers of my sanity... But I knew that Olaf had to be mine..

And I danced just like this back from the mail box when I opened it up..

It is a gorgeous pale frozen (yeah, you knew that word was going to be thrown in here somewhere so just let it go...^_~ ) blue with a pink shift and the perfect dash of holo to almost bring it to life on your fingers.  So I wanted to do some magical stamping on it to make it almost as kick ass as Elsa's ice magic. Cause honestly, who wouldn't want that kick ass power? And this is what happened, it isn't as awesome as Elsa, or Olaf, but maybe as cool as Sven...

I used the following products on this mani:
Opi Nail Strengthening Base Coat
Pure Ice Superstar!
Vapid Lacquers Fast Drying Top Coat
Born Pretty Stamping Plate 03 Used Code KLH10 for 10% off your order and free shipping

While my stamping is still left to be wanting, I did get the new Messy Mansion Super Soft Stamping Heads and they are incredible! New Review for them is upcoming as well!
While Olaf did disappear there is still HOPE!
The chance to order the group custom Olaf is gone, if you really need it and MUST have it you can still order it as a custom polish option from Carpe Noctem Cosmetics cause Emily is THAT awesome. You can purchase Olaf (as a custom polish only) from Carpe Noctem Cosmetics on Etsy. You can also follow her on Facebook, her Facebook Fan Page and on Instagram! So until next time lovelies stay warm, polish your nails and watch Frozen!

A little bit of lace with some blackened amethyst.

*Purchased*
Hello Lovelies!
Welcome back to another installment of Mani Monday and MOAR drunk stamping. I swear that I will eventually get this stamping deal down however I still haven't quite perfected my technique. So while I am struggling you can feel better about your own nails. ^_~

The struggle is real and especially worse with stamping...

The holidays are gearing up with Thanksgiving this coming Thursday. Mr Dreadful is off for a week and I have to get my holiday back on to visit my parents. We take the Dreadful horde over to their house and celebrate Thanksgiving there and then celebrate Christmas here.  However like from my previous post, I am HATE the holiday shopping ordeal.

See that vacant look...not happening

Yup totally staying home...

Mr Dreadful is hoping to snag some Black Friday deals and that is ALL him. I am staying home away from people and working on my manicure and stamping. I may even do a makeup look or two. But I am not going ANYWHERE near a store.
That is right Godzilla, fuck that shit..

I will however hit the web for some awesome Cyber Monday deals cause some are just too good to pass up. But enough chattering about the holidays and on with the thing that you came here for..NAILS!

You can even see the epic Holo through my craptacular stamping!

I used the following products for this manicure
Opi Strengthening Base Coat
Vapid Lacquer's Blackened Amethyst
Gothic Gala Lacquers Basic White Stamping Polish
Born Pretty Chic Lace Stamping Plate BP-02  (Use Discount Code KLH10 for a discount off your purchase and free shipping)
Vapid Lacquer's Fast Drying Top Coat

This was my first time using the Born Pretty Stamping Plates and I was extremely pleased with how well they stamped. There will be a review on them coming up in the near future after I survive the holidays. If you are wanting to pick up Blackened Amethyst from Vapid Lacquer you can do so here. You can also follow her on Facebook, on her Facebook Fan Group, and even on Instagram. I hope that you enjoyed this version of Mani Monday! Until next time lovelies...

Mani Monday:When Stars Fell During the South Haven Sunset with a hint of Drunk Stamping

Hello Lovelies,
I am back and feeling much better for this weekly installment of Mani Monday and of course some MOAR drunk stamping. It has been far to long since I last attempted to stamp and I wanted to do something today that made me bust out the stamper.

Stamping makes me feel fabulous and sassy!

Surprisingly enough, my stamping wasn't as bad as I thought that it would be and the  Gothic Gala Laquer's Stamping polish in Antique Gold over Carpe Noctem Cosmetic's South Haven was a nice and subtle look which you could get away with in a conservative work place.

I was glowing with delight that my stamper didn't betray me.
I wanted to do something fall/winter inspired without using the traditional colors and stamps without being too traditional. But just take a look and tell me what you think!

Sadly, my nails broke the day before I did this mani, Isn't it always the case?

I was trying to capture the duo chrome effect of South Haven Sunset

Apparently it is still going to take a while for me to get this stamping thing down.
I used the following polishes for this look:
Opi Nail Strengthening Base Coat
Carpe Noctem Cosmetics South Haven Sunset
Gothic Gala Lacquers Antique Gold Stamping Polish
Vapid Lacquers Fast Drying Top Coat
Bundle Monster Stamping Plate BM-021

While I know that the stamping isn't perfect and didn't cover the entire nail in the last photo I was pretty pleased with how this look turned out. I felt pretty damn fabulous.

Yup this is how I felt about my nails.

You can follow Carpe Noctem Cosmetics on Facebook, in the Facebook Fangroup and on Instagram. You can also follow Gothic Gala Lacquerson Facebook, in her Facebook Fangoup and on Instagram as well. And finally last but not least, you can also follow Vapid Lacquer on Facebook, in her Facebook Fangroup and also on Instagram. I hope that you liked today's installment of Mani Monday (with a hint of drunk stamping) and tell me what is your current favorite mani color for the season?

Mani Monday Featuring the Halloween Collection and the National Adoption Day Special Polish From Carpe Noctem Cosmetics

*Press*
Hello Lovelies!
I am back again with another Mani Monday Edition. Today I have some really special polishes from Carpe Noctem Cosmetics! Emily contacted me and asked if I would be interested in helping show off her new Halloween Releases and of course naturally I said YES!!!
Did someone say Halloween?

Halloween is my favorite holiday and I am so thrilled to get any collection that has to do with it.  I like how Carpe Noctem's newest releases aren't your traditional or non traditional Halloween colors it is a combination of both. Just take a look...
Gresskar
Gresskar is a combination of what I would call a traditional and non traditional Halloween colors. It is a pale golden orange color with a hint of holo. While orange is what I would consider a traditional Halloween color due to orange being associated with Jack-O-Lanterns it is soft and delicate enough to wear anytime and anywhere.

Midnight Madness
Midnight Madness is one of my favorites in this collection. It is what I would consider a traditional Halloween color due to the gorgeous deep bluish purple color with just the right dose of holo making it sparkly but nothing like a Twilight Vampire.

Raspberry Beret
Raspberry Beret is another one of the polishes that what I would consider a non Traditional Halloween Color. While it is a gorgeous combination of both a burgundy and raspberry jelly with holo scattered through out, it isn't blood red that are associated with Vampires and Zombies. But just the right hint of fall with a dash of pink.

Take a Drink Michael (reformulation)

Take a Drink Michel (Old Formula - Discontinued)
Next up is another favorite of mine, the reformulation of  Take A Drink Michael inspired by my favorite vampire movie The Lost Boys. I have included the swatch of the original for a reference between the two colors. The new version is much darker with the black base and filled with more holo. Both versions are simply gorgeous I can't I pick a favorite between the two.

Home, Forever
Finally last but not least, is a super special polish in honor of National Adoption Day called Home, Forever.  Emily mentioned that she wanted to do a special polish in honor of National Adoption Day that is close to her heart. I have two cousins who are adopted and our family wouldn't have been the same without the addition of those two beautiful ladies. So I was honored that Emily asked if I was interested in swatching this color for her. It is a beautiful coral shade with hints of holo in the sun. It isn't your bright orange coral or the shocking pink coral but a lovely hybrid of the two colors with lots of sparkle. It will be available soon before National Adoption Day (November 22nd) and as soon as it goes live in the store I will link it here.

Check out this gorgeous jelly!

We wanted our fingers and toes done..
Now here is a little something extra from my littlest Dreadful. She is loves having her nails painted and is like her mother and loves sparkles so she wanted to show her nails off to everyone as well. She picked out Carpe Noctem's discontinued polish The Blob from last years' Halloween Collection . I love the sparkles of this jelly and I am secretly hoping that this polish returns so I don't have to be a mad horder with my bottle. *hint hint Emily ^_~*

Well lovelies that is if for this installment. But I will be back possibly today or tomorrow with a special Halloween Mani so stay tuned for that. If you want to pick up any of these polishes you can pick them up here. You can also follow Carpe Noctem on Facebook, in her Facebook Fan Group , and on Instagram.

Until Next Time Lovelies!

Mani Monday featuring Literary Lacquer!

*Purchased* *Press Sample*
Hello Lovelies!
I am back again today with a new installment of Mani Monday! First, I must apologize that this post was supposed to go up last Monday but to to the preschool chaos that was happening here I missed it. So, I do apologize. But, today I have to chance to show of some really gorgeous beauties from Literary Lacquer. Literary Lacquer is run by a wonderful lady named Amy and she creates FABULOUS polishes based off of novels! So of course being the big giant literary nerd that I am, I squealed with joy at the aspect of this.

Yup, this is my face looking at her available polishes. Cause seriously they are pretty damn epic.
When the polishes arrived I was blown away as soon as I opened the package. It was as if pure literary and polish goodness powers combined and punched me in the face with their epic-ness.

So much pure awesome in one package!
I was determined to swatch them all...

I was determined!

I originally picked this gorgeous polish, Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster, which is you are a scifi junkie you  will automatically know that is from Douglas Adams' Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. It is one of my favorite books (and yes I even loved the movie hence for your viewing pleasure the fabulous animated gifs). It is described as a vibrant turquoise blue linear holographic polish with added fine holographic glitter. The description isn't kidding this polish is PACKED with holographic glitter. It hits you in the face when the sun shines on it .
That's the holo hitting you in the face.. Just be prepared.
But don't just take my word for it, take a look at this!
I would say that it is more on the green side of turquoise but either way it is fabulous.

Another sunshine shot trying to capture all that holo-y goodness.

Look at all that HOLO!

I also was lucky enough of get the Bionic MmmmDetector, from the Good Parts Collection based off Erotic Fiction, which is a polish inspired by Vox written by Nicholson Baker. For those of you who are history buffs, or actually lived thru this, this book is the same one given to President Clinton from  Monica Lewinsky. Bionic MmmmDetector is described as a black jelly packed with aqua, teal, blue and green micro glitter. I will admit that when I applied the first coat I was wondering if I needed to apply some undies underneath the polish. But I didn't, it builds up beautifully giving the polish amazing depth.
Step away from the undie polish cause this is gorgeous all on it's own!

This polish while not based on HGTG looks like an amazing space polish.

Trying to capture the glitters just right

Close up shot.. Doesn't it look like an exploding planet?
This could totally be the glitters in the polish.

Finally last but never least, Amy was sweet enough to include a sneak preview a polish, Camazotz,  from the Wrinkle in Time Collection which is another favorite book from my childhood. Camazotz is the planet that has been swallowed by the Dark Thing. This polish fits it perfectly since it is described as a black linear holo with a blue/ red shift. It can even appear purple at some angles.

Don't be sad, while the planet was swallowed by the Dark Thing the polish is fabulous!

See here it appears black

And close up you can see the purplish hue.
I loved all of the polishes so much I wanted to track Amy down and immediately hug her for combining two of my loves, books and polish into one awesome package!

So much literary and polish love!
Want to know more about Literary Lacquer? Don't Panic and know where your towel is..

And buy amazing polish..
Literary Lacquers offers full size polishes of these colors and more on her Etsy Store for $10 a piece. You can also find her on Facebook as well as Instagram to be up to date on new releases as well as sales. I hope that you enjoyed this installment of Mani Monday with Literary Laquers. So until next time lovelies, so long and thanks for all the fish!

Until next time! Read some Douglas Adams and watch HGTG!
