Mani Monday... The Darkest Kiss always requires a Thank You..

*Gift, Purchased, Affiliate Link*

Hello Lovelies,
I am back with another Mani Monday post after forever. During the holidays, quite honestly EVERYTHING was crazy. Then after the holidays not only did my kids get the flu but they also shared that horrible plague with me as well. So needless to say that my nails were horribly neglected and quite frankly they looked like shit.  I know I should hang my head in shame over that fact but I just recently started doing my nails again which is horribly sad and I wanted to get back into the swing of posting manis and beauty posts since I have been doing nothing but reviews. So this is the first of many new Mani Monday posts and if you follow me on Instagram you would have actually seen my poor attempt to film trying to capture the holo. However I did manage to capture hints of it here and there on film.

I used the following polishes for this mani
Opi Base Coat
Gothic Gala Lacquer Darkest Kiss
Pure Ice Superstar (for stamping on the thumb and the ring finger)
Born Pretty Store Stamping Plate BP-12 (use discount code KLH10 to save some money)
Gothic Gala Lacquer Thank You Flake Top Coat
Vapid Lacquer's Fast Drying Top Coat.

I hope that you enjoyed this Mani Monday installment and until next time lovelies!

A little bit of lace with some blackened amethyst.

*Purchased*
Hello Lovelies!
Welcome back to another installment of Mani Monday and MOAR drunk stamping. I swear that I will eventually get this stamping deal down however I still haven't quite perfected my technique. So while I am struggling you can feel better about your own nails. ^_~

The struggle is real and especially worse with stamping...

The holidays are gearing up with Thanksgiving this coming Thursday. Mr Dreadful is off for a week and I have to get my holiday back on to visit my parents. We take the Dreadful horde over to their house and celebrate Thanksgiving there and then celebrate Christmas here.  However like from my previous post, I am HATE the holiday shopping ordeal.

See that vacant look...not happening

Yup totally staying home...

Mr Dreadful is hoping to snag some Black Friday deals and that is ALL him. I am staying home away from people and working on my manicure and stamping. I may even do a makeup look or two. But I am not going ANYWHERE near a store.
That is right Godzilla, fuck that shit..

I will however hit the web for some awesome Cyber Monday deals cause some are just too good to pass up. But enough chattering about the holidays and on with the thing that you came here for..NAILS!

You can even see the epic Holo through my craptacular stamping!

I used the following products for this manicure
Opi Strengthening Base Coat
Vapid Lacquer's Blackened Amethyst
Gothic Gala Lacquers Basic White Stamping Polish
Born Pretty Chic Lace Stamping Plate BP-02  (Use Discount Code KLH10 for a discount off your purchase and free shipping)
Vapid Lacquer's Fast Drying Top Coat

This was my first time using the Born Pretty Stamping Plates and I was extremely pleased with how well they stamped. There will be a review on them coming up in the near future after I survive the holidays. If you are wanting to pick up Blackened Amethyst from Vapid Lacquer you can do so here. You can also follow her on Facebook, on her Facebook Fan Group, and even on Instagram. I hope that you enjoyed this version of Mani Monday! Until next time lovelies...

Mani Monday featuring Literary Lacquer!

*Purchased* *Press Sample*
Hello Lovelies!
I am back again today with a new installment of Mani Monday! First, I must apologize that this post was supposed to go up last Monday but to to the preschool chaos that was happening here I missed it. So, I do apologize. But, today I have to chance to show of some really gorgeous beauties from Literary Lacquer. Literary Lacquer is run by a wonderful lady named Amy and she creates FABULOUS polishes based off of novels! So of course being the big giant literary nerd that I am, I squealed with joy at the aspect of this.

Yup, this is my face looking at her available polishes. Cause seriously they are pretty damn epic.
When the polishes arrived I was blown away as soon as I opened the package. It was as if pure literary and polish goodness powers combined and punched me in the face with their epic-ness.

So much pure awesome in one package!
I was determined to swatch them all...

I was determined!

I originally picked this gorgeous polish, Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster, which is you are a scifi junkie you  will automatically know that is from Douglas Adams' Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. It is one of my favorite books (and yes I even loved the movie hence for your viewing pleasure the fabulous animated gifs). It is described as a vibrant turquoise blue linear holographic polish with added fine holographic glitter. The description isn't kidding this polish is PACKED with holographic glitter. It hits you in the face when the sun shines on it .
That's the holo hitting you in the face.. Just be prepared.
But don't just take my word for it, take a look at this!
I would say that it is more on the green side of turquoise but either way it is fabulous.

Another sunshine shot trying to capture all that holo-y goodness.

Look at all that HOLO!

I also was lucky enough of get the Bionic MmmmDetector, from the Good Parts Collection based off Erotic Fiction, which is a polish inspired by Vox written by Nicholson Baker. For those of you who are history buffs, or actually lived thru this, this book is the same one given to President Clinton from  Monica Lewinsky. Bionic MmmmDetector is described as a black jelly packed with aqua, teal, blue and green micro glitter. I will admit that when I applied the first coat I was wondering if I needed to apply some undies underneath the polish. But I didn't, it builds up beautifully giving the polish amazing depth.
Step away from the undie polish cause this is gorgeous all on it's own!

This polish while not based on HGTG looks like an amazing space polish.

Trying to capture the glitters just right

Close up shot.. Doesn't it look like an exploding planet?
This could totally be the glitters in the polish.

Finally last but never least, Amy was sweet enough to include a sneak preview a polish, Camazotz,  from the Wrinkle in Time Collection which is another favorite book from my childhood. Camazotz is the planet that has been swallowed by the Dark Thing. This polish fits it perfectly since it is described as a black linear holo with a blue/ red shift. It can even appear purple at some angles.

Don't be sad, while the planet was swallowed by the Dark Thing the polish is fabulous!

See here it appears black

And close up you can see the purplish hue.
I loved all of the polishes so much I wanted to track Amy down and immediately hug her for combining two of my loves, books and polish into one awesome package!

So much literary and polish love!
Want to know more about Literary Lacquer? Don't Panic and know where your towel is..

And buy amazing polish..
Literary Lacquers offers full size polishes of these colors and more on her Etsy Store for $10 a piece. You can also find her on Facebook as well as Instagram to be up to date on new releases as well as sales. I hope that you enjoyed this installment of Mani Monday with Literary Laquers. So until next time lovelies, so long and thanks for all the fish!

Until next time! Read some Douglas Adams and watch HGTG!

Mani Monday: No Power in the Verse Can Stop Me

*Purchased*
Hello lovelies!
I am back again with another installment of Mani Monday! And if you are a super big geek like I am you did this when you read the title...

OMG a FIREFLY REFERENCE?!?!?!
Yup that is right, today I am doing a Firefly Mani Monday feature!

I know I am super excited too!

While I know that there are a lot of polish companies that have done a Firefly collection, which the rabid Firefly fan in me wants to collect them all, today I am doing a feature on a special limited edition run.  Yup, that is right. I said limited edition. And we all know that limited edition means, that if you don't get this polish you feel like you are in...
I feel this way every time I see something is limited edition.
Quickly followed by this emotion..

LIMITED EDITION?!?!

Then finally breaking down into this...

WHY does it have to be LIMITED EDITION?!?!
But this lovely little polish was one of the options for the Notoriously Morbid's Vanishing Cabinet for July. It consisted of four shadows which were inspired by Firefly and either a lipgloss (for the international customers) or a polish. After the Vanishing Cabinet sold out, Carrie was kind enough to offer any additional extras up for sale on the Notoriously Morbid site. So immediately I picked up this polish, cause seriously FIREFLY. Enough said.

Yup, I am Firefly Obsessed

No Power in the Verse is listed on the site as the "first Morbid Mani polish full of microfine holo glitter in black and purple, mixed with holo blue, holo silver, rosy pink and black shards." While this polish is JAMMED pack with a wide variety of glitters I would say that you need a coat of "undies" underneath this polish to really bring out the depth of all the glitters. I mean just take a look.

All the fancy glittery goodness!

I wish the sun would fully cooperate with bottle shots..

The sun DID however come out for nail shots.. Forgive my Reaver Clawed hand

Makes me think that the whole verse in on my fingers

And a close up shot...Pretty isn't she?
Due to it being so jammed packed full of glitters dries matte and can be a bit rough. The simple solution to that is just a topcoat to help smooth out everything and to really bring out the depth of the shine. I used the following polishes on this mani:
Nail Trek II (base coat)
Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter A Peel (trying this is my first time which it is supposed to help with glitter polish removal so stay tuned for an upcoming review)
Sinful Colors What's Your Name (for undies 2 coats)
Notoriously Morbid's No Power In the Verse (2 coats)
Gothic Gala Lacquer Smooth Me Over (1 Coat)
Vapid Lacquer's Get Your Shine On! Quick Dry Top Coat (1 Coat)

So if you hurry over to Notoriously Morbid there are seven mini bottles left of this limited edition polish though I do hope that Carrie and Laura make this part of their permanent upcoming line. (*insert an obvious hint hint) and you can snatch up for $4.00 which is a steal. You can also follow Notoriously Morbid on Facebook, Instagram and their Facebook FanGroup. I hope that you enjoyed this installment of Mani Monday and until next time lovelies Stay Shiny and Enjoy Captain Tightpants!

Captain Tightpants wants you to watch Firefly and loves this polish too!

Mani Monday: Take a Drink Michael...and drunken bat stamping..

*Purchased*
Hello Lovelies!
Welcome back to another installment of Mani Monday! Today I am featuring the custom color, Take A Drink Michael from Carpe Noctem Cosmetics. Now if you are anything like me with a love of vampires and vampire movies, this color will instantly make you completely fangirl (or fanboy) out completely...

Did someone say The Lost Boys?

Yes, lovelies this polish was originally done as a special request custom order for one of her customers and I had seen swatches of it in the Seize the Night fangroup on Facebook and instantly fell in love. Cause I don't know about you, but The Lost Boys is still one of my all time favorite horror movies of all time.

Who didn't want to live forever as a bad ass vampire like David ?

There was some talk of this becoming a part of her collection around Christmas time and she was clearing out some of her stock and there was a bottle or two of  Take a Drink that she still had left. I wasn't able to order it then and it made me a horribly sad panda that I missed out on this collection. I could feel David judging me.
I could sense his disappointment when I didn't pick up the polish.

So, I recently ordered a mystery grab bag offer that she has on her site. I messaged her and asked if by chance she still had a bottle of Take a Drink Michael with the slight chance that there still was one bottle of this gorgeous polish and to my joy there was! I could have awesome amazing Lost Boys inspired polish adoring my fingers and toes!

Can you tell that I was hot for David in the movie?
**SEMI SPOILER if you haven't watched this movie... so stop reading and go watch this movie NOW then continue reading this blog. ^_~ **

Take a Drink, Michael is a gorgeous reddish purple holo that captures the moment in the movie where Michael takes a drink from an old wine bottle thinking that it is wine but it is secretly is drinking David's blood.

David was a rocking hottie even IF he was sporting the dreaded mullet.
Just take a look at it!

Outdoor and overcast
Since the sun wouldn't agree with me due to the storm system that is moving through the area I was forced to take my photos inside.
Check out that gorgeous reddish purple goodness. So Vampy but also so wearable during daylight!

Check out that holo bottle shot! It is almost as if someone ground up a Cullen and put it in a bottle.

Now I couldn't be a complete creature of the night without adding some bats to my nails. So, I dug through my stamping plates and found two lone bats and I needed to add them to my nails. Now, if you read my last Mani Monday post you know how much I truly suck at stamping. But I couldn't have my Lost Boys mani without the bats so I took the plunge and busted out my white stamping polish and went to town.
Let's do this!

Surprisingly, my stamping worked (as you seen in the photos above) however if you take a look apparently I stamped my bats upside down so they are drunk bats...So the stamping gods and I are currently at a stalemate since I could get the stamp to transfer but it is upside down. O.o

Yup, that is the stamping gods giving me the finger...
If you are dying for this polish, never fear it is set to return as part of the upcoming Halloween collection but as a linear holo instead of a scattered. So you can either gather your pennies and wait until it is released then and allow David to judge you as well. Or you can take the plunge and order a custom polish and have Carpe Noctem Cosmetics make you one right away. You are find CNC on Etsy, Facebook and even their fan group on Facebook. Hope that you enjoyed this installment of Mani Monday (and my horrible drunk stamping) so until next time lovelies I am off to watch the Lost Boys again!
