I am back again with more swatches and even an eye swatch or two from BeautyBarBaby. I just can't get enough of her lovely products that I am constantly like this when I see something new coming out...
Yup, this is me a total BBB addict.
However, I have noticed that I hadn't run across too many swatches on the net so I needed to remedy that.
Cause if there are more addicts out there she will create more products for us, RIGHT?
So without further ado, here are some more swatches for you enjoy and hopefully become as hopelessly addicted to her products as I am.
Shagadelic Mojo is from the Fireworks Duo Chrome Collection. It is described as an iced mocha with blue, silver and red shifting undertones. While I am not a coffee drinker (I know I am some strange mutant not of this Earth) I would describe it as a creamy mocha with a lovely trio of shifts. I usually see more of the silver and blue in this swatch but when the light hits it just right the red shimmers through. It is delicate enough to wear everyday but the shifts just keep people guessing.
Sinner is described as a rich shimmery taupe/ blackened plum with gold sparks. I think that it is more of a marriage of taupe and plum since both colors are present but neither are overpowering. It is a great color to wear either by itself as in the eye swatch or with others.
Stinger is currently out of stock due to her recent sale, but keep an eye out for it being restocked. It is a gorgeous bright aqua blue . It reminds me of mermaids and would make an amazing eyeliner.
Ice Queen is described as a pearlescent silvery baby blue with gold undertones. The combination of both the silver and the light blue does give it as a pearly sheen and the hint of gold makes simply gorgeous!
Supergirl is described as a twist of vivid purple and blues with violet interference undertones. This is a lovely blurple color leaning more towards blue however the purple is definitely there. I love this color and for some reason the combination of the name and the color always makes me think of the classic Supergirl movie with Helen Slater.
Last but not least is White Chocolate, which is part of her new matte line. It is a primary white matte shade. This is always one of my favorite go to colors cause I can either use it in a look or as a highlight. Cause honestly everyone needs a matte white in their shadow collection since it is so versatile.
Well I hope that you enjoyed this newest installment of a Swatch Here and Swatch There with BeautyBarBaby. I have plenty to swatch and share with all of you so this will be an on going series (and yes, there will be other companies featured to cause you have to share the love and the addiction). If you would like to pick up these shades , or any others you can do so at the BeautyBarBaby site on Etsy. You can also follow BBB on Facebook, Instagram and their Fan Group on Facebook for the newest sneak peeks of upcoming collections. Until next time lovelies!
Hello lovelies!
Welcome back to another installment of the EOTD series. Today is a redo of a look that I wore to a family outing this weekend and I forgot to take a picture of it. =( ( #makeupartistproblems ) I hate it when I do that! However it was just to pretty to not redo and it is more of a neutral look that everyone can feel comfortable wearing.
Belle, Boe and Neno in a bar with Vampires? WHAT?
I know that a lot of you are wondering what is with the name of this look. So here is the madness behind it, it is all based off the various colors and collections from Notoriously Morbid. Notoriously Morbid has a lot of amazing bright and bold colors but she also carries some really gorgeous neutrals which I used for this look.
Hello Lovelies!
I am finally back and I am trying to go ahead and start back with writing in this blog on a regular basis as well as uploading videos to my Youtube Channel on a regular basis as well. I figured that I would go ahead and kick this off with not one, not two but three small mini reviews for items that I received from the Born Pretty Store. I picked out three different items to review for you this month from the Born Pretty Store and let's go ahead and get started!
First off I chose this nice 16 Color Shimmer Eyeshadow Palette in order to see just how vibrant the colors were. Needless to say I was impressed (as you can see from the swatches with no primer in the review video.
I also did a Spring Look tutorial with this palette with hopes that Spring would soon be here since the weather has been so horrible lately.
I used these lovely pink brushes in order to do the look. I was impressed with the quality of the brushes since not only did they hold up (and not shed) to repeated use but also washes as well. They were both soft yet firm and made from synthetic fibers (yay vegan brushes!).
Finally to round out my order I had to pick this awesome Punk Spike Leather Multi-Use Head Band since I have been dying to get one for myself . This was also amazing since it held up to a lot of wear and tear with me using it and my daughter deciding that she was going to use it while it was still on my head.
Overall I have to say that my experience with the Born Pretty Store and their products has been simply amazing and I just had to share it with all of you. They were also kind enough to give me a discount code to share with my subscribers so go and order some really lovely products from the Born Pretty Store and use the discount code KLH10 in order to get 10% off your order!
So stay tuned for more reviews and tutorials and until next time lovelies...
Hello lovelies!
It has been awhile since I have updated by blog but summer is usually a super hectic time for the Dreadful family. It hasn't helped that it has rained the ENTIRE summer which my little Dreadfuls have wreaked havoc upon the house and often times my sanity. But thankfully the sun has reappeared and I can return to this blog and video editing without wanting to pass out on my face at the end of the night. So anyways, I am back with a much needed and overdue review of LunatiCK Cosmetic Labs. What can I say about them? I LOVE THEM! I did a video review of their amazing products so I won't go reiterate the entire video review but beneath the video review are swatches of the palettes I have from them as well as the lipsticks and what my thoughts are about each of them.So on with the video review...
So there you have it a mini review in a nutshell, they are amazing, however here are the rest of my thoughts on their products and I will start it off with my favorite palette from their line the Zombie Defense Palette.I promise to make this short and sweet since I could write a book on why I love their palettes but no one wants to read a 50 page review on makeup. ^_~
Zombie Defense Palette over NYX Milk
Zombie Defense Palette-Not only does this collection have an amazing theme, I personally love the individual names of the colors. With all of their products the pigmentation is amazing however this palette not only has amazing color pay off there is a slight touch of glittery sparkle to the shadows which isn't over powering for those who don't are for sparkle. I couldn't capture the slight sparkle on film with the slight exception of the swatch of Braaiinns. I love red shadows, I just simply can't get enough of them and Red Rum Red is simply gorgeous. It is more of a blue based red (which I am partial to) rather than what I normally see which is an orange based red.
Asylum City Palette over NYX Milk
Asylum City Palette- If you are looking for a bright matte palette this is the collection for you. Not only are the colors super pigmented there is no shimmer to the shades whatsoever. Pure matte plain and simply and I love the fact that this collection essentially comes with its' own "highlight" color (Sister Mary) and "smokey eye essential color" (Confinement). I love seeing collections like this especially when I am looking for a palette. I tend to do darker looks so I need a good matte black staple and since I do more "dramatic" looks Sister Mary is the perfect highlight color.
Jack's Nightmare Palette over NYX Milk
Jack's Nightmare Palette- I have to say that I really like how Lunatick thought outside of the traditional "Nightmare Before Christmas" box. Normally when I think of Nightmare before Christmas I think of blacks, whites and purples. However I like how they have incorporated softer colors to this theme and called it Jacks' Nightmare. This palette like the Zombie Defense Palette is more shimmer than matte but I think that it works with the whole theme. The colors are lighter which appeals to more people and can be easily incorporated to a work look without getting lots of double takes while you go grocery shopping. I especially love the two blue colors in this collection which just makes me think of winter.
Finally last but not least of the eyeshadow swatches, I have a custom palette from Lunatick as well so I just call it my custom palette which was done along the lines of their old packaging before they moved to the new six shadow palettes. So I have broken it up into Row 1 and Row 2.
Custom Palette Row 1 over NYX Milk
Row 1- You may notice that Sister Mary from the Asylum City palette is in this row. But Cynaide, Toxicity and Poison Apple are from their Toxic Palette. They are all matte and extremely bright and bold. Pink and No. 5 (was in an older discounted palette) are not currently in a palette however if we all sent a lovely note to Catherine (the sweet and lovely owner of Lunatick) perhaps she will be so kind as to create a gorgeous palette with those two colors (*hint hint Catherine if you are reading this. ^_~). From this gorgeous row of colors it was hard to choose a favorite however I would have to go with the gorgeous and stunning No.5 (which is an amazing lipstick shade) but I was super pleased with all of these shades.
Custom Palette Row 2 over NYX Milk
Row 2- As you can tell Row 2 is comprised of neutrals which can appeal to anyone. The various shades of brown can create several gorgeous combinations of a neutral eye without compromising color pay off. Fire, Sea, Aether and Esotericism are all from the Fifth Element Palette which is perfect for everyday wear or for a pinup look. Both Light and Eclipse are from the Ancient Elements Palette which is another natural palette that won't disappoint. If I had to pick a favorite color from this row it would have to be Sea since it is such a dark rich chocolate brown with just a hint of shimmer. Perfect for an everyday look or a dramatic smokey eye.So if you are looking for more of a neutral every day palette you can't go wrong with either of these two collections.
But wait! There is more! I also have two of Lunatick's lipsticks or shall I say Apocalipsticks. These lipsticks have amazing color pay off and have a nice light sweet smell. I have some indie lipsticks that have a horrible metallic smell and I never use them because of the smell. I have two of their gorgeous lipsticks and neither color disappoints. They glide on smooth and are super moisturizing. I have worn both out with several compliments. These gorgeous shades will get you noticed.
Saint
Saint is a gorgeous light blue color which reminds me of either a robin's egg blue or the sky on a super clear day. It is lighter color so you can build the intensity that you want.
No. 5
No. 5 is my favorite of the two colors that I own. This gorgeous green is probably the closest I have seen out there for a metallic green color. It is simply gorgeous. I can't get over how amazing this color is.
So there it is lovelies..my full review of Lunatick Cosmetic Labs. You honestly can't go wrong with ordering from this amazing company. The products are gorgeous and pigmented. I love the fact that they have something for everyone from bold and bright to soft and neutral. Their customer service can't be beat and the quality of their shadows is incredible. So if you are looking for a new company to try out don't hesitate to try Lunatick Cosmetic Labs, you won't be disappointed. Until next time lovelies!
Hello lovelies!
It has been awhile since I have posted anything and I do apologize. But I am back and this time I am reviewing a lovely independent makeup line called, RoseMarie's Shadows on Etsy. RoseMarie's Shadows has a gorgeous line of mineral makeup ranging from stunning shadows to foundations and blushes. All of their products are all natural and made fresh. They don't contain fragrances, preservatives, synthetic dyes and parabens. Not mention they don't test on animals which is a big thing for me. I don't approve of animal testing. So good karma points for RoseMarie's Shadows! YAY!
I received six colors and needless to say I am very impressed. The first color that drew my attention was Mermaid. Her store description of the color is a beautiful shimmer teal blue and she is right. I immediately noticed this gorgeous color and instantly wanted to put it on. Pirate Purple is a gorgeous deep purple shade that is extremely rich and vibrant with just a hint of shimmer. Sea Turtle is actually surprised me. When I first saw in the container I thought that it was going to be more of a pastel green but it isn't. I actually at first thought that the pigment had the wrong label since it wasn't as dark at it appeared in the shop. It seems that RoseMarie's camera is a much better judge of color than I am since it did photograph true. It is a shimmery green with hint of blue and gold. I also received Oink which is a shimmery pink shade that is subtle when applied dry over a base and really popping when applied wet. While I will admit that I think I don't have any single shades of orange shadow (all of them came in a pallet of some sort) I was wondering what I was going to do with Pumpkin. Again the color really fooled me to think that it was actually lighter than it appeared in the photo and turned out to be not only a lovely shade but winning me over. This is a shimmery shade as well since all of her shades have a slight shimmer to them. Finally in my package there was Snowflake a light soft shimmery white it makes an excellent highlight color and it is soft enough for you to use it when you go to work or visit in-laws when dramatic makeup might be a no no. However I like dramatic and I would really suggest using this color wet/foiled so that you can really appreciate how gorgeous it is. But enough blabbing on to what you are really wanting to see...PICTURES.

Swatches inside with flash
The swatches in order from left to right are: Snowflake, Pumpkin, Oink, Sea Turtle, Mermaid and Pirate Purple. The top row is just on skin and on the bottom are swatched over NYX jumbo pencil in Milk. Silly me, I didn't think to swatch them wet but here are photos in comparison between dry and wet.
Shadows applied over just primer and Nyx jumbo pencil in Milk
Same shadows applied wet over primer and Nyx Jumbo Pencil.
Color variety-9 out of 10 bats
RoseMarie has a nice amount of colors and shades that will keep you wanting to come back for more.
Pigmentation 8.5 out of 10 bats
The colors of her shadows are really gorgeous and can be worn dry for a more subtle and conservative look or wet which I think really brings out the true beauty of the shades for a more dramatic look.
Overall- 9 out of 10 bats
The variety of colors and pigmentation will bring you back to the store and not to mention how sweet the owner is. All of her colors have a nice hint of shimmer to them and foiling them will bring new depth and dimension to the color. However if you are looking for a true matte color she doesn't offer it currently.
