Amalgam Scent Company Review!

Hello Lovelies!                                      *press sample*
I am finally back after a hellish couple of weeks. Things always happen in threes and when disaster strikes this always holds true as well. It started off with our Playstation 3 stopped reading disks so there was much sadness in the house as all three of my kids immediately wanted to play PS3 games but couldn't. Then the big one is our computer BLEW up and was possessed by the matrix which slammed a huge halt to any blogging whatsoever. And finally the router decided to stop working in a house that streams everything. Obviously the last two issues are fixed, since I am finally able to post this much over due blog post.

I was contacted by Laura from Amalgam Scent Company to see if I was interested in testing out her products for a review. I am always more than happy to review new products so I happily agreed.
Amalgam Scent Company originally started off with making bath and perfume products but has now branched off into the beauty aspect. All of Amalgam Scent Company's products are vegan and cruelty free which is always a bonus in my book.  What makes this company different from other indies, is while they offer loose pigments, her entire line is pressed. There is always a debate on whether pigments are better pressed or loose but it simply boils down to these two things, what you like and convenience.  I really liked the aspect that her line is pressed because for me pressed shadows are easier to store since I am quickly  running out of room for my loose pigments. Don't get me wrong, I love my loose pigments but I really liked the aspect that she decided to stand out with her initial packaging and stuck with pressed.

I was sent three shadows, a highlighter and a liquid lipstick from Amalgam Scent Company's first collection, La Isla Bonita (which I always sing thanks to Madonna). If my rusty Spanish is correct, the collection translates to The Beautiful Island.  The items I got are true to the name, they are simply beautiful.  Just take a look at these swatches.

**All swatches are done over Lunatick Lab's Eyeshadow Primer.**

Porta Del Sol is a highlighter that is also safe for the eyes

Check out that pigmentation! The colors were nice and buttery, super easy to used and so blendable.  I am always worried how pressed items will arrive to me since often whoever handles my mail can get very angry at times and the boxes are not always in the best conditions when they arrive. However, that being said all of the items arrived in perfect condition and were sealed in these adorable little plastic pouches. They easily fit into an empty eyeshadow pan from either TKB or a Z palette.

I also received a gorgeous liquid lip in the shade Encanto. It s a rosy mauve with a hint of brown making an excellent every day shade when dealing with muggles or the school. It wasn't overly drying like some mattes were and is ultra pigmented since this is only one coat!  Check out that swatch and once dry they a pretty much transfer proof and easy to remove at the end of the day.

Needless to say, I am in love with Amalgam Scent Company. This collection is simply gorgeous! There is a second collection, Soigne, which has released since I have received my products which is strictly liquid lipsticks. They are all gorgeous and I will be picking some of those up in the future.  Her newest collection , Tell Me a Story, is inspired by  Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark and releasing on September 23. Not only will it be makeup but also a fall scent. I am super excited to see what that collection brings. You can follow Amalgam Scent Company on both Facebook and Instagram to see swatches, looks and what is releasing next. If you are located in the US you can also try out a shadow for free (with the cost of shipping) to see these gorgeous colors in action. She also has some yummy bath and body items that sound heavenly so head over to Amalgam, I promise you won't be sorry.  So until next time lovelies!

A Frozen Kiss!

*Press*

    Hello Lovelies!

I am back with a Lip of the Day (#lotd) inspired by Elsa and the Kiss of True Love. I will admit that I have been singing...

Yup, I have been singing this song since Mani Monday..

I did an Elsa/Frozen inspired eye a while back and I didn't want to redo it just yet, however I just received some AMAZING holographic glitters from BeautyBarBaby and Elsa Baby just screamed at me to do a glittery look with it.

The Elsa Baby Glitter TOTALLY gave me the sad snowman look..

So in order to get this Frozen songapalooza out of my head without taking a hammer to my head and bludgeoning myself into sleep (cause let's be honest it would still be haunting my dreams) I immediately riffled through my makeup and came up with this glittery lip.

I used the following products for this look
BeautyBarBaby Frozen Opaque Lipstick
BeautyBarBaby Elsa Baby Glitter
MAC NC15 Concealer
Mac Studio Fix Powder

I hope that you enjoyed this quick glittery lip, and I hope that this gets any or all Frozen Songs that are lingering in your head out. If you would like to purchase BeautyBarBaby products you can do so on Etsy. You can also follow her on Facebook, her Facebook FanPage, Instagram and Twitter! So until next time lovelies try to get Frozen out your head and wear MOAR GLITTAH!
Elsa thinks that EVERY should wear more glitter!

Hello Lovelies!
I am back again this time with another EOTD! I haven't done a look with pink or glitter in awhile so I decided to do both this time. While this isn't an official Sailor Moon inspired look it does remind me of Chibi Moon's Pink Sugar Heart Attack.

Yup, I totally brought up another Sailor Moon reference. Before the PINK SUGARY GOODNESS!
While I will admit that pink isn't a normal color that I usually work with. I was pretty pleased with how this look turned out.  Just take a look..

I used the following products for this look:
LCL  Aether
CBC Miami Rose
CBC Popsicle Pink
Sugarpill Birthday Girl
Sugarpill Smitten
Lit Cosmetics Afternoon Delight

A Doll and A Dame look Smashing in a Bordello

*Press*
Hello Lovelies,
I am back with not one but TWO looks from BeautyBarBaby's newest Pinup Collection. I got both the red and the purple based collections and I did a look with each of them. There is also a gorgeous neutral set that I have my eye on but that will have to be for next time. When I hear the world Pinup it just makes me think of the ultimate sexiness and these shadows are NO exception.

And nothing screams sexy like Dita Von Teese.
I essentially started with the red, since I have a weakness for red shadows.

Red is SUPER SEXY

I used the following items for this look:
BeautyBarBaby (BBB) Cream & Sugar
BBB Broad (Pinup Collection)
BBB Doll (Pinup Collection)
BBB Dame (Pinup Collection)
BBB Striptease
BBB Raven
BBB Red Fairy Dust (in the inner corner)
Born Pretty's 15 Piece Pink Brush set (used code KLH10 for a discount)

Then I had to do a purple look since purple is another one of my favorites.....

I used the following items for this look:
BeautyBarBaby (BBB) Miss Daisy
BBB Bordello (Pinup Collection)
BBB Brothel (Pinup Collection)
BBB Cathouse (Pinup Collection)

The Key Master found Mass Hysteria during Spiritual Turbulence by Not Crossing the Streams

*Press*
Hello Lovelies!
I am back and feeling a slight bit better amid the plague that is lingering in my household. I actually felt like getting up and putting makeup on today instead of just wishing for sleep constantly.

Yup, that is all that I want to do lately with this nasty bug.

Shocking as it may be, I have pretty much spent the whole week without a smidgen of makeup on my face.

Yup I totally look like this without any makeup.

But since I am feeling mostly human today I wanted to bust out with some gorgeous new colors that I received from Darling Girl.  That is right, as you can tell from the animate gifs that are all over this page the collection I am working with today is inspired by Ghostbusters.

What?! Did you say Ghost Busters?

These colors are absolutely gorgeous and when I saw sneak peeks of them in the Darling Girl Fan Page on Facebook I was instantly blown away.
Feel the wrath of gorgeous fabulous pretty colors!!

I had a hard time choosing what colors to play with today since they are all so pretty and shimmery!
OMG WHAT COLORS TO CHOOSE!?!?

But this is what I finally decided on...

I used the following products with this look:
Darling Girl (DG) Ghost Job
Serendipity  (DG)
Key Master  (DG)
Mass Hysteria  (DG)
Spiritual Turbulence  (DG)
Don't Cross the Streams  (DG)
He Slimed Me (DG)
The assorted Eye brushes from the 15 piece pink brush set from the Born Pretty Store (use code KLH10 for 10% off and free shipping off your order)
Barbara Lashes from Oh My Lash

Now sadly, Serendipity was a GWP shadow and is no longer available however all of the other shadows used were from the Who Ya Gonna Call Collection from Darling Girl. You can pick up the shadows here. You can also follow Darling Girl on Facebook and Instagram. Be sure to join the Darling Girl Fan Group in order to get all the sneak peeks of the new and upcoming collections that are coming out! I hope that you enjoyed this look and until next time lovelies!

What?!?! Two posts in ONE DAY?!? What is this insanity? It is only Officer Friendly and the Silent Samurai Praying that I am Dead.

*Purchased*
Hello Lovelies!
I know this is pure insanity that I have not one but two posts today. But this EOTD is just too lovely not to blog about. Notoriously Morbid has recently started up a monthly subscription and it is continuously impresses me each month. Due to the wedding chaos, which is thankfully over, I haven't been able to blog about the Vanishing Cabinet. However I finally get some time to open up this collection and take a look at it.

My poor makeup was locked up like zombies in a hospital until recently
To my glee and surprise this collection was based off the Walking Dead...
Yup, you know that show that EVERYONE is talking about...

However, I was wondering how Carrie and Laura were going to portray this collection since it is a zombie based series. Where they going to go with the traditional zombie gore colors or were they going to do something different? And to my very pleasant surprise, this collection is mainly neutrals. I chatted with Laura about this for a bit and they wanted to do colors based off the characters. Which I really liked. While I love zombies and gore colors, and truth be told I am not much of a neutral girl, it can be a bit overwhelming this time of year.

So many zombies... all over the place! What about zombie love in July?!?!

So, I dove head first into this collection and this is the look that I came up with. While everyday is Halloween for me, most people not so much..

Daryl is totally with me that everyday should be Halloween..cause Al Jourgensen says so
I created this neutral eye that you can wear to work and secretly support your love for zombies and shout that EVERYDAY IS HALLOWEEN without worrying that your boss will give you the bung eye.
That blue liner there.. is Silent Samurai foiled.. Yup beautiful isn't it? <3

I used the following products on this look
Notoriously Morbid's Cherokee Rose, Officer Friendly , Pray I'm Dead and Silent Samurai (foiled as a liner and on the lower lash line as well) from the October Vanishing Cabinet
Notoriously Morbid'sSo Goes My Nation (highlight) from the Slayer Collection

But I know that you are going, Dreadful, this is a Limited Edition and I NEED IT.
Seriously look at that liner! No really you can have it too ....
Well lovelies Notoriously Morbid is going to be listing the overstock of the colors soon so be sure to check out the Facebook pageand the Facebook Fan Page to see when. You can pick up these colors and more on the website and be sure to follow them on Instagram.

So, until next time lovelies!

Two looks for two awesome causes...

*Press*
Hello Lovelies!
I am back today with not one but TWO looks done for two separate causes that often are overlooked in the hype of this really awesome Halloween Holiday season. I was asked by two fellow BeautyBarBaby promoters to participate in collaborations these two causes and both causes are really amazing so I immediately agreed.

The first look is for Domestic Violence. I will sadly admit that I didn't know that this month was also Domestic Violence Awareness since it is often overlooked due to October also being Breast Cancer awareness Month as well. But both are equally important.
Did you know these Domestic Violence Facts?

I used the following colors from Beauty Bar Baby: Miss Daisy, Awesomeness, Ritual, Purplicious, and Ritual

Love should never hurt..

If you are a victim of domestic violence please speak up and if you are located in the United States you can call the National Domestic Hotline  1-800-799-7233

Next is the Breast Cancer Awareness look. This campaign is very dear to my heart since both my aunt and grandmother suffered and beat this terrible disease.
Save the Women !

Please be sure to check yourself often!

I used the following colors from BeautyBarBaby Miss Daisy, Strawberry Wine, Moltov Cocktail, Intoxicating and Tantalizing

I hope that you enjoyed these looks they are both done for two very important causes.
 Until next time lovelies!
