I'm BAAAAACCCCCKKKKKKKKK!!!!

Hello lovelies!
I am back from my super long log hiatus. It has been super crazy since I have last updated. And I am sure that most of you where wondering....

Well I swear I didn't have a near death experience, I was a hell of a year. As some of you may know that I am a stay at home mama bat of three little Dreadfuls. My oldest started middle school last year, my middle started first grade and my youngest started preschool. All three kids were going to different schools and all three had different drop off and pick up times. So I was literally in the car ALL THE DAMN TIME.

I lived there and when I wasn't in the car I was waiting to pick them up or drop them off. There were THREE yes, THREE different drop off and pick up times. And after that my middle was having a hell of a time in school. He had more homework than my middle schooler. During that hellish school year, we also discovered that he needed to know how to read at the start of first grade and there wasn't a requirement that kindergartners know how to read in order to pass kindergarten. It was like he skipped a grade and we weren't notified. So we struggled with that and were doing school interventions to help him catch up. WHICH TOOK THE ENTIRE YEAR for them get enough data to say hey he might have a reading disability that we need to test for.  He also has speech issues which he couldn't get test of help for since he was all read in an intervention program for academics and they couldn't do speech at the same time. Don't ask me why it is utterly stupid and I wanted to bang my head on the desk the entire time.

So needless to say my poor middle had an utterly craptacular year and failed first grade. He finally got tested earlier this month (yes in JULY) and he should be able to get all the help he needs next year. We also have been working with him all summer so that he will have to confidence to be a super star next year.  So that is the reason for my super long absence. I was having to pull super Mamabat duty and help my kiddo out with his homework. However with the summer winding down and all of my kiddos will be in school full time I am finally able to return to blogging, reviewing and so much more. So stay tuned for more blog posts, possibly some Youtube videos, and reviews. There will be lots of different posts on new things that have caught my fancy as well as some of the old things that you love. So until next time lovelies....

What's this? What's this? A New Look?!?! (Sneak peek into the madness of a Blogger's life)

Hello Lovelies!
I am back today with a quick note. As you can tell the Dreadfully Divine blog has gone through a MAJOR overhaul! Now I am sure that you are asking why in the world did you do that Dreadful?

Why would you DO such a thing Dreadful?

Well lovelies, I decided that I needed a change. My blog has looked the same for about two years and it was time for something new and fresh. So I signed up for a blogger mentor with one of the groups that I am in on Facebook and I was paired up with an awesome blogger, Kirby from The Mercurial Magpie. She runs an awesome beauty blog with some great nail reviews and swatches. So I was excited and I asked her for pointers. She has given me a lot of lovely suggestions and the first of which was to change the color of my page in order to make it easier for people to read hence the massive overhaul. But I had forgotten in two years what a major PAIN IN THE ASS it is to redo an entire look of a blog.

But being as stubborn as I am, I was determined to do the majority of it in one day...

But in all reality Blogger laughed and taunted me with stretching my posts out of having my images over lap the sides.  Poor Kirby attempted to help me wade through the abyss of frustration from revamping my blog. I was like this for the majority of the day.
Why????
Just to make things line up and to create some new buttons. But it was no use, I did the majority of my overhaul today and I decided to stop before this happened...

JUST WORK DAMN YOU! !! STOP STRETCHING OUT!!!!!

So that is the moral of the story is, when you have decided to give your blog a major face lift and before you attempt to beat your computer into submission with your face, stop and take a break.  Walk away save your changes and  take some advice from AbFab and  have a drink.

Or pull a Patsy and drink the whole damn bottle..

Cause that is what I am going to do right now before attempting this again tomorrow.

 Until next time lovelies!

Dreadfully Divine's LIT BIRTHDAY GIVEAWAY!

Hello again lovelies!
I am back again this time on my birthday! While I won't reveal my age to you because you never ask a lady two things (her weight and her age), you do get a chance to get a present from me! Wait? How does THAT work you ask?!? Well because Jodi from Lit Cosmetics was SUPER sweet enough to send me NOT one but THREE LIT KITS to give away! I know? Amazing right? But in order to be fair to all of my social media followers, I split up the three kits to give them away on three main social media platforms (well technically four) so that everyone has a chance to win a Lit Kit. So let's get things started!

Here is the kit that you can win if you follow the simple rules!

As I mentioned earlier, my giveaway is actually happening on three of my social media pages. The first kit to be given away is the Rich & Famous Holographic Lit Kit. Honestly who doesn't love gold holographic glitter to adorn your eyes with? If you are dying to win this kit you must follow the simple rules that are listed in my YouTube Video down below. (See that is where the fourth technical page is since this kit is going to be given away to my YT/blog following ^_~) Everything will be checked via me to make sure that you followed the rules because simply if you don't follow the rules your entry doesn't count. It isn't' fair to everyone else who did follow the rules. So watch the video to get all the details (don't worry it isn't that many) and the rules. All of the valid entries will be compiled into a random name generator and then chosen at random and the winner will be announced here and on YT where you will have 72 hours (business days since I rarely hop online during the weekend) to contact me to claim your prize. If not then it goes to another person and yes lovelies like all of my giveaways this one IS open INTERNATIONALLY.

But Dreadful, I want a chance to win the other kits as well (cause technically more entries more chances to win) ! Well never fear lovelies you CAN! The second kit which is the SuperFly holographic glitter kit is going to be given away on my Facebook page via the Rafflecopter App. Like with the blog/You Tube giveaway you will have to follow all of the rules (there are additional entry options to get more entries for the FB giveaway but you MUST complete the mandatory steps marked with an * in order for your entry to count).

Finally the last but not least Lit Kit to be given away is Disco Diva which is going to be given away on my Instagram. So there you have three different chances to win these amazing kits from me and Jodi from Lit.

The contest kicks off  today, ( my birthday ) May 1st, and ends at Midnight CST on May 31st. So you have until to get your entries in! So go enter and have fun lovelies! It may take me a couple of days to gather all of the information from all the three contests but once the winners are posted remember you have 72 hours ( 3 business days) to contact me with your information or another winner will be chosen! Now if case you don't want to wait to see if you have won you can pick up your own Lit holographic kit at Sephora!

Born Pretty Store Reviews and Makeup Tutorial!

Hello Lovelies!
I am finally back and I am trying to go ahead and start back with writing in this blog on a regular basis as well as uploading videos to my Youtube Channel on a regular basis as well. I figured that I would go ahead and kick this off with not one, not two but three small mini reviews for items that I received from the Born Pretty Store. I picked out three different items to review for you this month from the Born Pretty Store and let's go ahead and get started!

First off I chose this nice 16 Color Shimmer Eyeshadow Palette in order to see just how vibrant the colors were. Needless to say I was impressed (as you can see from the swatches with no primer in the review video.

I also did a Spring Look tutorial with this palette with hopes that Spring would soon be here since the weather has been so horrible lately.

I used these lovely pink brushes in order to do the look. I was impressed with the quality of the brushes since not only did they hold up (and not shed) to repeated use but also washes as well. They were both soft yet firm and made from synthetic fibers (yay vegan brushes!).

Finally to round out my order I had to pick this awesome Punk Spike Leather Multi-Use Head Band since  I have been dying to get one for myself . This was also amazing since it held up to a lot of wear and tear with me using it and my daughter deciding that she was going to use it while it was still on my head.

Overall I have to say that my experience with the Born Pretty Store and their products has been simply amazing and I just had to share it with all of you. They were also kind enough to give me a discount code to share with my subscribers so go and order some really lovely products from the Born Pretty Store and use the discount code KLH10 in order to get 10% off your order!

So stay tuned for more reviews and tutorials and until next time lovelies...

In the Pursuit of Fabulous- Sunset eye big eye tutorial

Hello lovelies~
I am back again with another picture tutorial. This time I went for my usual bold look, but I will try to alternate between neutral and bold looks so that everyone can enjoy. So here is my Sunset inspired look complete with EOS J203 Adult Blue lenses from Kiwiberry-1-Collection . I wanted to a bold look with a really colorful lens but this look will work with or without lenses. But enough gabbing and on with the tutorial!

What I used for this tutorial:
Moisturizer, Makeup Remover Wipes, Too Faced Shadow Insurance , NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk , Sugarpill's Burning Heart Palette , Tako from Sugarpill , Makeup Forever's Aquashadow in Matte Black , MAC's Carbon , Mac's Liquid Last Liner ,your favorite mascara and Red Cherry Lashes # 76 .

Step One: Start off with moisturizing your entire eye area. Once that has soaked in, apply Too Faced Eye Shadow Insurance all over your lid and even under your eye. This will prevent your shadows from creasing and make your look last all day. Next apply Nyx's Jumbo Pencil in Milk just as you did with your eye shadow primer which makes your shadows extremely vibrant and rub that in (or else you may have creasing which counteracts your eye shadow base). Apply Tako (white) in your tear duct area and on your brow bone.

Step Two: Apply Buttercupcake (yellow) all over your lid.

Step Three: Apply Flamepoint (orange) in a V like shape on the outer portion of your lid and in your crease as well as under your eye.

Step 4: Next apply Love+ (red)  in a large C like shape above the Flamepoint (orange) and Buttercupcake (yellow) and under your eye to right before your iris.

Step 5:  With a blending brush, blend in your crease softening up the line between Love+ (red)and the Flamepoint (orange). Be careful not to blend to low since you still want the Buttercupcake (yellow) to remain bright and vibrant. Add shadow as needed until you are satisfied with your blending.

Step 6: Apply Poisonplum (purple) in a L shape in the middle of your crease and just wrapping around the corner of your eye. Don't worry about fallout or if you look like you have a bright ball of color around your eye. We will fix that later with the magic of makeup wipes. ^_~

Step 7: Blend, blend blend and add color when needed until you have the desired look. Once you have the look you want, take your trusty makeup remover wipe and clean up any fall out on your face under your eye.
Step 8: Next line your waterline with a black eyeliner and using an angled brush set your waterline with a matte black eye shadow  (MAC's Carbon), curl and apply your favorite mascara and line the top lid with black liquid liner (MAC's Liquid Last Liner). While you are waiting for your liner to dry, apply your foundation, fill in your brows (or draw them on in my case), highlight/contour your face, apply blush and lipstick. When your liquid liner is dry then apply false lashes ( I used Red Cherry 76). You're done and you look fabulous!

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial and until next time my dears...

The Pursuit of Fabulous-Review of Natural Big Eyes Lenses - Dolly Eye - Pop C Light Violet

Hello my lovelies,
I am back again with another circle lens review for you. This time I am reviewing Natural Big Eye Lenses Dolly Eye Pop C in Light Violet. I originally purchased these lenses from EyeCandy's Store but for some reason they are no longer in stock. AS I have stated before I have really dark brown eyes and while some lenses look amazing in the photos on the website they don't live up to their images when you get them out of their vials and into your eyes. While I am sure that those lenses may look jaw dropping amazing with people with lighter eyes not so much on us dark eyed ladies and gents. But not so with these lenses, you can tell the difference and the actual color from a distance. If you are looking for a lens that stands out in a crowd these lenses are for you. I love dramatic looking lenses and makeup so these were right up my alley.
Without flash on an overcast day

With flash., just look at the amazing color.

Enlargement- 8 out 10 bats
These lovelies are huge. Large enough to draw attention to you but not too big that people will think that you are some strange alien from another planet. People will glance your way and do a double take. So be prepared.

Color and Design- 8 out of 10 bats
The color of these lenses are amazing. The pigmentation is dark enough to stand out against my dark eyes and up against my dying camera. They are really vibrant! If you are looking for a more subtle or natural violet eye, then these are not for you. They are quite dramatic and stunning. But then again, I love the strange and unusual.

Comfort- 7 out of 10 bats
While these lenses are comfortable my eyes were being to tire and dry out after about six to seven hours. If you are thinking of wearing these beauties all day/night take some eye drops and your case in case they dry out too much.

Overall- 7 1/2 bats out of 10
While I loved the color and enlargement of these amazing lenses, I wish they were a bit more comfortable for me to wear longer without drops. People will do a double take and stare at these lovely lenses since they are so striking and really draw attention to your eyes. I still can't rave enough about how pigmented they are to stand out from a distance on my dark eyes. So if you are looking for a gorgeous violet lens that will draw attention go out and purchase these.

It appears that after I composed this blog entry, my sad sick little camera has finally given up the ghost and died a horrible death. Which, I will say, is all for the best since it could no longer take decent close up pictures. So, since the camera gods have spoken, I will be purchasing a camera after the holidays and I will be back with better (and clearer) pictures and I will be revising the tutorial with new images and of course more reviews and tutorials. So have a wonderful holiday season and I will see you all in 2013. Until next time my dears...

In the Pursuit of Fabulous-Barbie Puffy Three Tones Brown from Unisqo

Hello my lovlies~
I am sorry that I have been away for so long. A lot has happened since I last posted ,the two major events  that occured were that we got a new boxer puppy which my children have named Cody and I participated in my first NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) in November. For those of you who haven't participated in NaNoWriMo it is basically a writing frenzy all month. The goal is to write 50,000 words in 30 days and I am proud to say that I met the goal but I didn't do anything else. I was a mad writing hermit during the month of November. But I am back with a review of the Barbie Puffy Three Tones Lenses in Brown from Uniqso. I bought these lenses several months back due to the fact that the company was having an amazing sale on this brand and I wanted some new lenses to review. I wasn't quite sure about buying brown lenses since I all ready have dark brown eyes but I am honestly thrilled with how these lenses look. While I am normally drawn to more drastic lenses these didn't fall flat at all. While the color change isn't as shocking or unusual as yellow lenses would be, I found myself admiring these beauties every time I passed a mirror.
If you look closely you can see a slight reddish or pink ring around the pupil opening. I love this and it gave my eyes more "depth" instead of just a solid colored lens.

My crappy camera fails to capture the gorgeous hues in this lens.
Enlargement- 6 out of 10 bats
These lenses did make my eyes larger but it didn't give an alien appearance. However you will notice the slight difference in your eyes.

Color and Design- 7 out of 10 bats
These lenses are gorgeous in the vials and out. There is a slight pinkish/red inner ring where the pupil opening which explodes into a frenzy of different browns and ambers and ends with a soft brown outer ring. The lenses are what I would consider natural but they are anything but boring. While personally I love the strange and unusual colors and patterns, I really love the look of these lenses.

Comfort- 9 out of 10 bats
These lenses are EXTREMELY comfortable. I wore them for a full eight hours and I didn't have any complaints. They did what I want from a pair of lenses. They stayed in place with no hassle that I forgot that I was wearing them.

Overall- 7 out of 10 bats
Needless to say, I really loved these lenses. While they didn't make my eyes as large and alien looking as I would like, I couldn't stop admiring these lenses throughout the day. The color and design were gorgeous especially giving the brown so much more depth and the comfort was out of this world.I was pleasantly surprised at the new shade of brown my eyes achieved and I wouldn't hesitate in purchasing another set of Barbie lenses especially if they are as comfortable as these. I do have this same lens in blue so I look forward to seeing how well the blue stands up against my dark eyes.

Until next time my dears...
