Hello Again Lovelies,
I am back again with another review. Today I am reviewing 15 Minutes Vegetarian Quick and Easy Recipes . I love cookbooks however I will admit that there are some times when I don't want to spend 3 hours in my kitchen making something. So I was thrilled with the ability to review this cookbook. It is broken down into sections : the busy mom, romantic meals and even a kids section. All of the sections have breakfast, lunch, dinner and even dessert recipes which I was surprised to see. I was also really thrilled to see that there was a kid recipe portion of the book as well since often finding vegetarian cookbooks with kid recipes are few and far between. So that was a definite plus. It was written wonderfully and with easy enough instructions that my 11 year old can easily follow and help me while I am preparing these meals. I also really liked the fact that the author went again the grain and opted out of using recipes with tofu and tempeh which a lot of vegetarian cookbooks fall back on. I know a lot of my friends who aren't vegetarian often wonder what to make when they have vegetarians over for dinner and I have suggested this book since it has a little bit of everything.
If you would like to pick up your own copy of 15 Minutes Vegetarian Quick and Easy Recipes you can do so on Amazon. It is either $24.95 in Print or $2.99 on Ebook Format. I hope that you enjoyed this installment of What's the Deal Dreadful, until next time lovelies!

What's the Deal Dreadful? Review of Kiva Gourmet Hot + Sweet Smoked Paprika
Hello Lovelies,
I am back again with another cooking based review. Today I am reviewing Kiva Gourmet Hot + Sweet Smoked Paprika. Both Mr Dreadful and myself like to cook and we love trying new spices. While paprika isn't a new spice to our kitchen we love the fact that paprika does give a hint of smokey flavor to our dishes so we were excited to try these two spices out. They arrived well packaged and wrapped up nicely in a box. Both bottles are similar in packaging in nice solid plastic bottles and similar labeling however the Hot Smoked Paprika is slightly darker in colors that the Sweet Smoked. The Sweet Smoked Paprika has a deep rich flavor with a hint of sweetness and smoke which isn't too overpowering. The Hot Smoked Paprika flavor has a deeper richer flavor as with a full spice flavor. The hot smoked is spicy however there is flavor behind the heat instead of just nothing but spice. The Sweet Smoked Paprika goes wonderfully with just about anything that you would want to add paprika on. We have used it in potato salad, egg salad, devil eggs, tuna salad, etc. My husband likes to use the Hot Smoked Paprika in his rubs on his meat and even on fish.
If you want to pick up the set of Hot +Sweet Smoked Paprika you can do so on Amazon. It is $10.99 for the set. I hope that you enjoyed this installment of What's the Deal Dreadful and until next time lovelies!

What's the Deal Dreadful? Review of Fraser Kitchen and Food Scale
Hello Lovelies,
I am back today with another healthy living review. Today I am reviewing Fraser Kitchen and Food Scale. Since my husband and I are trying to be healthier, we figured that using a kitchen scale will help us with some of the mysteries of portion sizes when it comes to cooking. We were really pleased when the scale arrived. It arrived well packaged in a white box. The scale is not only thin but light weight and very sleek in design. You have to turn the scale over and open up the battery compartment to remove the plastic tab in order for the scale to come on. Then you simply placed the scale on the counter and then place your food items on top. It has a glass top which makes it easy to clean up or wipe down with a Clorox wipe. However with the glass top it is SUPER easy to get finger prints all over it. It comes with well written instruction that are easy to understand. We were also thrilled to see that the scale weighs up to 11 pounds and can switch easily between different weight measurements so you don't have to adjust and do the conversion in your head between grams, pounds, etc. All in all this is a great product for beginners and foodies a like.
If you would like to pick up your own Fraser Scale you can do so on Amazon for $24.99. I hope that you enjoyed this installment of What's the Deal Dreadful, until next time lovelies!

A Literary Dreadful: Review of Cookbook: 101 Healthy Vegan Asian Food (Quick & Easy vegan recipes Book 5) by Jonathan Vine (ebook)
Hello Lovelies,
I am back finally after a small hiatus due to the plague. Being sick always sucks but being sick during the holidays with little dreadfuls being sick with me was absolutely miserable. So while I was laid up with the plague there was absolutely NO makeup going on since I am paranoid about contaiminating my brushes. But while I was sick I was looking for some new soups in order to help me and the rest of the Dreadful household feel better. Which leads me to this really awesome Asian Vegan Cookbook that I was asked to review.
101 Healthy Vegan Asian Food (Quick & Easy Vegan Recipes Book 5) by Jonathan Vine is really pretty amazing. As some of you may know I am Asian and vegetarian. In fact the majority of the Dreadful Household is (Mr Dreadful isn't however if I cook vegetarian he is eating it ) and I have been wanting to incorporate more vegan recipes into our meals. Obviously we love Asian Food, so I was super happy to try this. It was really great since it cut down the research time since you don't have to look through every single ingredient to make sure that there isn't an hidden animal product listed and it also gives you a listing of common Asian ingredients. That helps out tremendously.
The book is divided up into four chapters which are broken down into essentially an entire four course meal : Appetizers, Soups, Main Dishes and even Desserts! Each recipe includes the total preparation time and cooking time as well as ingredients and servings. I found that the directions were extremely well written both clear and easy to follow. Some of my family's favorite dishes were the Spicy Tofu and Cilantro Wontons, Asian Cucumber Salad, Kale and Miso Soup, Kimchi Soup, Vietnamese Noodle Soup, Orange Tofu, Peanut Noodles, Mango Sticky Rice (which we can never get enough of when it is mango season, Tofu Gyoza, and Almond Bars. We also liked that this book has a WIDE variety of recipes from various Asian cultures such as the Korean, Thai, Japanese, etc.
So we found that this is an excellent collection of Asian recipes and would satisfy both Vegan/Vegetarian and Omnivore!
If you want to pick up the ebook you can do so on Amazon for the Kindle Price of $3.99. While I am more of an old school traditionalist for books I really liked the ebook format for this cookbook.
So until next time lovelies!
